A Woman, Empowered By Her Female Sexuality Is Formidable!

Miley is just shedding the wholesome image that she had to keep up with disney. First she cuts her hair probably something she has wanted to do for years but was under contact not too. Next comes the over the top sexual perversion which is most likely been building for some time. Her sexual display was childish in nature large foam finger and skin colored short shorts, teddy bears ect. Sexual repression visualized. She wants to become a sex symbol but clearly lacks the art of seduction made famous by previous disney talent like britt, christina ect. Clearly miley is following the same template that made her famous she just created a new alter ego with diffrent hair and who is sexual.5 years from now she will flip flop back to country and renounce her old image as trying to fit into hollywood

I will never understand how otherwise intelligent women can fall for this neo-feminist BS. How is degrading oneself into a sexual object "empowering"? How is it "taking control of your body" when you are making yourself into a harlot for the enjoyment of men who aren't smart enough to desire a woman of substance? I see nothing empowering about it at all.

If women want to empower each other, why not focus less on sex and more on things that really matter? Somehow we have let ourselves get to a point where the natural caregiving tendencies that women possess are considered degrading, yet performing sex acts on stage in front of a national audience is empowering. Yet another example of how right has become wrong, and up is now down.

If you want women to be empowered, it seems like you should want the complete opposite of what miley cyrus is. I have a daughter, and I want her to grow up to be a strong, independant, smart woman. The last person I want her looking up to is miley cyrus or anyone of her ilk. Why is it you believe that this is somehow empowering women? It's the complete opposite. It degrades them. Why not select positive role models for young girls? Why not select educated, intelligent, moral women who don't need to "shake dat ass" to prove they have worth?

If anything I see the argument that women who perform such acts as a method of "empowerment" completely missing the point and overlooking who they are performing those acts for. Mainly: Dirty, rich old men.

Isn't it funny how miley cyrus looks like a teenage boy and justin beiber looks like a teenage girl, with voices to match LOL. I think there's an experiment going on here with miley beiber and justin cyrus, probably some weird gender swapping thing dream't up in the bohemian grove.

But remember that your rights end where other people's rights begin. The minority population of rabid feminists should not be able to dictate policy to the majority of normal women and men. Just like a minority homosexual population should not be able to dictate policy. Seems though like the tail is wagging the dog.

Most of us guys need exactly what we ourselves are, and the gene pool's suffered because of what it is. We're all supposed to be multifaceted individuals, mischievous and yet responsible when the circumstances dictate: and we've all been directed to that cover on the book counting for everything, when in fact it's just a cover for a real person inside.
We've all been taught to not read a lot of things...especially each other.

How some people (of both genders) confuse nakedness with vulnerability or otherwise is stunning. Now that it's far too late for any of it to matter, I'd rather die alone than live with the wrong one. And I'll be damned if I wake up with a liar when the first casualty is herself... I'd be next.

It seems to me that the whole Miley thing is over the top- but that is pretty typical of americans when it comes to sex.

I personally do not agree that that kind of behavior is indicative of any responsible and conscious awareness of her sexual power.

It is more along the lines of a young person who gets sort of drunk off of the realization of their power and misuses and abuses it. In the same way young men get carried away when they suddenly find themselves 6 foot tall and full of muscles.... The impact they have on others is fascinating and exciting.
They can get carried away with using it to seduce women randomly, or in dominating others, using intimidation and physical force.

Though I think experimentation and exaggeration of this kind is normal in young adults of both sexes, I don't find it necessarily desireable or beneficial. In the case of males, it can be extremely destructive to others, in the case of females, it can be self-destructive.

I also have some views on sexual energy being creative in less commonly known ways, which influence my opinion on this.

But ideally, (and what I tried to do with my daughter) I think girls should be made aware of their power, and taught how to master it in constructive and mindful ways.

I am gonna be honest, I don't see anything empowering about her behavior. It is just another smart Hollywood marketing scheme by her agent and team to help keep her relevant in crossing over from child star. Nothing more, not about power but money.

Now there is nothing more powerful in the universe than a woman who knows who she is and that she does have power over men.

This is nothing new, can you say Eve, the one that started it all. No, the powerful women are the ones pulling the strings out of the limelight, like Michelle Obama or Mrs bush just to name two. That is the true power of a woman. Women run the world, men just won't admit it.

A woman 'empowered' means one thing to a woman who is not a mother. It means something entirely different...to a mother.
The things that one may think to do herself... may not be things she would want her daughter to experience. Know what I mean?
At 20 it seems ok to dress sexy and act flirty. When your daughter is 20....she still looks like a kid to you.
You're 10-yr-old daughter wants to dress like a 20-year old on tv.
It's ok to the 20-yr-old for herself.
It's NOT ok to the mother of the 10-yr- old.
Now the mother of the 10-yr-old is mad at the 20-yr-old for dressing like that. Even though, ten years ago...she herself would have dressed the same way.

i agree completely, and this particular weapon is one i have long ago managed to disarm. but the fact that some women try is the concerning part.

i support your post, and did not intend to imply you had stated those things. however unfortunately there is a group of people who do use thier sexuality to subjugate the opposite sex. thats the part of any empowerment i am against.

As someone that makes his living in the entertainment industry, I think I can safely say that Miley S. Didn't choreograph or have anything to do with that TV segment. She did what she was told by the producers and directors of that show for a paycheck. Usually older Jewish men that hang out in chrome and glass offices and try to keep the ratings up are responsible for MS performance. It's just business as usual. Miley was a pawn.

And I find it a little hypocritical of all the men on this thread trashing the OP when they themselves indulge in so much porn all the while being threatened by a woman comfortable with her sexuality.

Im actually very surprised by how this thread seems to have gone over everyone. Everyone wants to focus on miley cyrus and not discuss the other points i made. Though this kind of narrow minded thinking is actually very typical of male reasoning - They cant take more than one idea at a time so it makes sense that they pick the obvious and start slut shaming for stars haha

there arer alot of people who wont share you view of what it means to be empowered, and you are right society is hard on women.

but the whole "men can only have one idea at a time" does you no favours.
