"What is here?"

Yes, it is a simple phrase but it is magic because it is actually a question that BRINGS awareness back to the moment instead of TAKING awareness from it.

If someone asks me many questions, sometimes I can feel it absorbing my energy and I can feel the discomfort , confusion, or the feeling of being "lost" by the person. Sometimes, it is not even with bad intention. They are just curious about these things but I can still feel the energy being taken away.

Whenever you have a question, return to "What is here?".

People worry about the future, or they have an unfavorable view of the past - forgetting this is effecting their now.

Of course, I understand the feeling and subscribe to the notion of now and here above all else.

But, have you considered that you might be empathic?

I have a boy who likes to ask a lot of questions. On a car ride, I can expect to think about and answer several questions. A constant barrage of questioning. But I love it.
People are made for communication and relationships. Even the irritating people.

Just interacting with people takes energy too.

When I think 'what is here?' I begin to think of the better places I could be.

Certainly a good thread nonetheless, short and sweet.

Peace.

"Where are you (I) now ?", or "Where's your head at ?", are also effective.

If energy is running from you to the person asking questions, it's normal. It always runs from areas of high concentrations (You) to low concentration areas (people with lower energy levels).

If this concerns you, you can shield yourself. I don't personally think this is the best approach.

You could also open yourself up and allow more energy to run through you to where it is needed so that you don't experience the draining.

This also helps you with not carrying the other persons more negative energy which filled you in place of what flowed from you. You can let this energy go by scanning yourself to find what doesn't "fit" with you, and then purging it from your system with Light.

These things I learned from my friend Tayesin, and I know they do work well.

OMG,
mind was just wondering about what is Here and so I decide to come back Here and read and found your thread about Here.

But honestly mind still wonder what is the meaning of Here.

The only thing I can do best now is to stay in present. Some glitches happened, mind trying to grasp them but mind could not understand.

Then you aren't thinking about the question. The question is "What is here?" not "Where would I like to be instead?"

Here = This Place, At This Location

Focusing what is happening Here (Now , being aware of your surroundings) will take focus off what is happening There (Another time, another place).

There is no other time or place.

The eyes and ears cannot lie. But the mind will say there is another time and place.

The mind likes to tell fairy stories of better times and better places but there is no place like home.
Home is where the heart is, it is not where the mind takes you.
The heart is always here and now whereas the mind is elsewhere - it dreams separation. The mind pretends there is better than what is and then you feel disappointed all the time so continue to look for something better - not realizing that there is nothing better than what is because there is nothing other than what is.
The mind is what teases you and deceives you - it says 'this is not good enough I want that' but 'that' is not ever with you so you suffer from wanting which is the human condition.

If thought thinks 'what is here?' - then that is what is here.
If thought thinks 'there is something better' - then that is what is here.

Yeah, you're right.

My train of thought goes from the moment, to thinking I'm sitting here on a computer, being unproductive. Hopefully I can get that sorted out a bit.

Thanks for this, man. I remember reading something similar to that in a Thomas Merton book. He talks about the goal is to always have your contentment by realizing you always have God.

But I feel like reading the words do nothing for me to stop this condition. I'd have to sort it out on my own with God.

There is only God - here and now is it.
The 'I' that thinks it can sort it out is just a thought happening in God as God.

Awareness is always on the moment. It's just a matter of what in the moment you choose to focus on. Nothing is given back or taken away from the moment at any time or with any question.
