Yep. Amazing, isn't it, how we are constantly conditioned by some to doubt what we know to be true about ourselves and about life. A story about rats
and some race comes to mind?
Find your own level of happiness that is not influenced by anyone or anything, and then believe in it and yourself. More often than not the ones who
attempt to influence you most or the hardest are the ones who can't do that or haven't done it, right?
Back to that rats and the race thing. Picture this. A person graduates from college, gets a great job at a pay rate that is just unbelievable to him.
Immense and total happiness abounds until lunchtime when he finds out that another person who got hired the same day for the same job got X amount
more money. And so it begins....
As to a Western thing? Nah. It's not a Western thing or an Eastern thing. It's a money thing or a power thing or a social conditioning thing, or any
combination of these. Pure and simple. Some just got there faster.
