The problem with vigilante justice is that every once in a while, people get wrongfully accused of something, and then what?

This story reminds me of the movie Mystic River.

I won't loose any sleep over this incident. I have very little sympathy for perverts. But I have no sympathy for the farther either. I do not condone violence for any reason, least of all out of vengeance.

The thing about what the father did.....no one is saying what he did was RIGHT, or LEGAL. All we are saying is that we would have done the same thing.

I agree, what he did was wrong. However, it is one of those things that MOST of us would have done.

Giving the dad ANYTHING but a slap on the wrist doesn't make sense to me. Unless the DA is going to try and make an example out of him, which I really hope isn't the case.

You can make a civilian arrest. You are not allowed to restrain someone however you will not be charged if you do. You are not however allowed to beat someone into a coma or cause serious bodily harm to them. Doesn't matter how angry you get. This is common knowledge. I am actually amazed that peeping is now considered a felony as well. I do not support the pervert I just understand the law.

No, myself and the majority of men I know would not have tried to murder someone for finding a peeping tom. how old are you? That is the thinking of a teenager in high school. I would have however made sure he couldn't get away. His daughter was not in any danger. He caught the perp. You do not have the right to serve justice. You can however bring someone to justice. You break the law its the same as him breaking the law. If MOST of you would act in this fashion is makes me wonder what other laws you break and or would break.

Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. There is no doubt in my mind that the father thought he would get away with it.

Many peadophiles are closet, that is to say, its enough looking at kiddy porn or going to the local park nd talking photos..however with some, the urge is just toooooooo great, and looking turns to touching... This guy held swinger partys in his house, walks around the neighbourhood nude and is a known peeping tom..so there is a history of sexual misconduct (not in reference to the swinger partys). Maybe the chump was bored with his parties and thought he try something new...like the neighbours daughter perhaps..a normal peeping tom doesnt turn to peadophile overnight, it's got to be in him from the start..maybe he just hasn't has the guts for it unitl now..

It was honest opinion he was in need of a reality check..he needed to put himself in the shoes of a person who felt one of his children was directly under threat by a sexual predator. As he has no children himself, i used near family members hoping to make him see that the father wasn't "fullfilling his sadistic needs" as he kept saying, just reacting as a parent (be they human or animal) does when he/they feel one of their young is about to be harmed in the worst possible way...

Really? You don't like it when posters disagree with you and you don't like it when posters agree with you. What part of my post makes me illiterate? Did I misuse the English language somehow?

Anywho...I think I made my stance clear on this subject and believe the father, while legally wrong, was morally and justifiably correct. As a father also I would have done the same, without batting an eye, and slept like a baby the rest of my life.

This is prisoner training. Just like in the UK, you can't kill someone that breaks in your house and attempts to murder your entire family. No, server him tea and hope for the best or go to jail for the rest of your life. It's sickening, but it's the progressive/liberal democrat's utopia.

This is probably one of my last replies to a post here on ATS for personal and professional reasons (i have given an explanation over on the coffee thread for those who are interested and who know me and i thank you all for having had the tolerance to have accepted my points of views in the posts that i have made). I belive however that this thread should be one of those for which i will give me last opinion.

My say on the matter and my last reply full stop :

I find a guy naked outside my daughters or sons window totally naked (knowing that he is the neighbourhood perv)... Why the hell is he still free?

I will subdue him... if he becomes a threat whilst i subdue him i will nut him first and then using my own means... i WILL make sure that he will never become a father... FULL STOP.
