I just had to jump in here. What the hell does that even mean? What high hoarse? I can't even see what you are trying to imply by that statement.

Why muck up a perfectly fine conversation with nonsense like this?

The perfectly fine conversation got veered off into body count porn territory, where the anti war crowd counts bodies of soldiers but won't count the dead bodies these tyrannical regimes pile up. Just scroll up to previous posts don't just take my word for it.

One of the main points leaders in the West are making is that if chemical weapons use goes unanswered and ignored, the immediate future will see them proliferated with widespread use.

If Assad hands over his arsenal for destruction, it would be seen as a powerful statement against possessing and using such weapons. The obvious reason he is now willing to take this step is the threat of overwhelming military force. By overwhelming I mean whatever action even a small one he has no hope to defend against it.
That threat should not be removed until there is proof of full compliance, through the UN mechanisms.

one thing I agree with is that assad shouldnt have chemical weapons. He is now going to hand them over for destruction. Seems like the rest of situation needs less air craft carriers and battle groups then before , no?

Secondly it is not "anti war" to list the cost in people, resources and political capital ventured and lost. Its called a tally and it is used to sum up a situation. The wars the US has fought have exhausted the United states.

I will repeat that. THIS WELL IS DRY.

Our little prince leaders need to find someone else to be the whipping boy for blame when things need to get made down and dirty and someone else to do the dirty work.

We give it all as a people.

We sacrifice our young to carnage for the plight of far off people who are ungrateful of our self appointed place in THEIR mess. We give away our wealth to private profit veiled like a whore in our national colors and illegitimate authority. We obey and comply with the whims of mad men drunk on power who will literally kill us if we get too spirited or in their way.

How are we repaid?

With distrust. We are the most spied upon population in the world, even more so than China. We are severely taxed for everything we do and for every miserable little pittance we may get our way...and are even supposed to have a freaking CARBON tax placed on us for craps sake...so maybe a bike ride will get you a bill for breathing too heavily in the future. We are the most imprisoned people on the planet maybe next to N korea, though last I checked compared to our population size, we are actually MORE imprisoned then N koreans based strictly on percentages. We are also one of the most lied to people on the face of the planet. Maybe even worse than some cheap dictatorship spewing propaganda, since that is now legal here as well.

If you dont take issue with these things and realize that THAT is why we could care less if the entire F-ing planet blew itself up tomorrow , then you are not one of us. We want to start to take care of our own. I dont give a flying monkey chuck of dung what middle eastern people have liked to do to themselves for the last thousands of years. I want MY PEOPLE to do well. Selfish? WE DONT CARE. Our moral heart strings have been played like marionettes for the last 70+ years. We could care less what "trump card" you throw on the table of public support.

WE have had enough. If you havent, then you dont live in the reality that MOST Americans live in. Your´e special, and as such we could care even less what you think most of us should do. Pay blackwater, or whatever new upcoming private contractor is hot right now and send mercenaries from every part of the world to fight other mercenaries from other parts of the world. Use some of the public subsidy that goes to private profit to pay for it if "powerful and important" people feel their interests are being threatened.

We have literally had a large enough dose of BS to induce berserker rage on the political class and financial elite of this country. I isht you not.

Enough. Poor Syrians? WHAT ABOUT US GOD DAMN IT!

At this point the waters have been mudded sufficient enough that, like the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, the real perpetrators will never be found.

What I find disturbing is that, the seeds of Americas woes, were planted with the rise of Globalisation. As the Americans wealth has been hijacked by cheap labour, "Cheap labour" is a subsidised position, and not fair trade. A country with massive debt, and no jobs, and no future. Has to make changes or it will collapse at some stage. The temptation to use military force to halt the decline must be very seductive at some levels. If it doesn't, use its military assets which are still great. The decline will be accumulative at this stage of the game. The status quo, will severely weaken America. Which not to put to fine a point on it is what certain parties would like to see. So the certain parties will do anything to stop America from playing its military card, because that would end the status quo. Which is what we are seeing now. The trouble is the results of a modern war, that goes global, don't bear thinking about. Because the losers would use nukes.
I think that the original plan was to invade Syria, bring Russia and China into the conflict and do Iran at the same time, but the Russians and China are not taking the bait. Which for the military Industrial complex leaves the feeling "That we invited everyone to a war but nobody came".

Well its not quite this bad,, in America,, I dont think

"Spreading rumors online will face prison terms in China"

www.liveleak.com...

China users to face jail sentence over online rumors

Summary: Internet users who share false information that are defamatory or affect national interest will face up to three years in prison, but those who help expose corruption online will not face charges, in a move to curb online rumors.

yeah?

No, we get FBI or swat team visits to our homes if we are for example, suspected of being "too constitutional" minded.

Or

if we are in the armed forces or other public service type employment and happen to voice our personal opinions openly that happen to be against public policy or our president, we get sent to mental health asylums for "treatment" or lose our jobs. THAT doesnt happen here?

Really?

How about just taking survival courses and mostly dealing with cash, that doesnt get you a special place on all sorts of lists from no fly lists, to more invasive lists like "potential domestic terrorist" watch lists?

So you are denying the last 10 years in which the American public has been targeted by our government for simply being of a certain political ideology or mindset?

The IRS wasnt sent like hound dogs after the current opposition to the mentality in DC for which they admitted to and apologized?

Young People on the west coast werent targeted by the FBI for just dressing in all black and then being accused of being "may day" supporters who vandalized a federal building...all on the basis of what political literature was in their homes?

I mean I could write an endless list of outright WRONG and ILLEGAL things this administration and that of its predecessor have engaged in to limit, silence, and intimidate their public opposition during the last 10 years....but that is retarded. You were here. You know. I know you know. SO

Please. Its not like we are tortured and killed. No. We are just either RUINED financially or black listed for every process in life like boarding a plane, sent to mental health clinics for "treatment" because we disagree with the direction our country is taking, or have our children taken from us to live under the state´s custody, or other such crap violation of everything decent.

I would say its the same crap. Smells like it, looks like it, and guess what...it is it.

Power granted by public authority, used to secure more power over the public.

The question there that I can think of a quick and logical answer to is the one on other people doing it for being brought to Justice.

The last map of Damascus I saw at the neighborhood level showed the city itself split for physical control between the FSA and Syrian Government forces in at least 3 large sections. Others have shown 4 slices on division. So, I'm thinking that whether Assad wanted to find the ones who did it or not, finding and arresting them would be about the same as findind and arresting the leadership of whatever FSA faction actually hit the launch button on that one. If only...lol. He could end the war if going and arresting them was that easy.

Now I have a question on that, myself.

Assad's people can't get anywhere near the rebels, since they shoot each other on sight...as people are apt to do in a civil war. OUR people work with the scum though...so we ought to be able to do what he can't. That is..if rule of law and justice on any level still mattered to the US Leadership. It seems to have become the punch line to a joke for several of our people.

* I imagine Lady Justice is having a nervous breakdown these days.

I hope you don't mind if I number your grievances listed.

1)If that were true Ron Paul and his son would have been arrested and they wouldn't be whipping out the constitution every chance they get.

2)Been like that since forever, when you join the military you are not allowed to be political while wearing the uniform

3)Cash only business gets audited for fraud. Off the books operations have always been investigated for tax evasion. They couldn't get Al Capone for murder so they got him on tax charges, that was almost a century ago. There goes you argument that this is recent.

4) You have a genuine grievance here tucked into so many falsehoods. The IRS as an agency seems to have been politicized and that is wrong.

5)They fit the profile, had motive and opportunity, there was also circumstantial evidence and they were never denied their day in court. Every criminal arrest follows them same criteria.

6) your "endless list" is a bunch of paranoid unprovens wrapped around one genuine concern. It is a neat tactic but in the end diminishes the complaint for the one genuine concern.

Actually i think Assad meant expect everything ,,regardless if US attacks or not. That basically he was saying he has lost control of all areas, including,,,where his clan/supporters are.
in other words so that Americans might understand,, its a cluster#
