Yes.

But only if by the U.S. attacking Syria, it kicks off WWIII and most of humanity is wiped out, and has to start over...or possibly cause aliens to intervene. Bear with me here before erupting in chastisement. Take a look around. This reality, this world that we live in is really, really, really messed up. Everything is so backwards, everyone has a perpetual death sentence, nobody lives forever, and you can't take it with you. Terrible things happen every second of every day. People starve, die, kill, rape, torture, and a myriad of other terrible things have happened, and continue to happen all the time. What's the point of it all? Is there even a point? To live in slavery forever? What happens after we leave this plane of existence? No one knows for one hundred percent certain. Seriously ask yourself, why do you continue to live? What ultimate reason does humanity continue to wish to exist for? To make a better world for bringing other humans into (children)? You will die one day, and so will I....so...

OK, I stand corrected. Someone has supplied a good reason to attack Syria.

We already know what Obama is going to say. He is going to mention videos of dead children, which are not proof of anything. He is going to say that sarin residue has been found by the US (not UN). He won't say if it is military grade. He will say that only Assad and not the rebels have chemical weapons which is not true. He will say that they have intercepted phone conversations that prove government forces were behind the attack (the intercepts don't actually show that). He will say that Islamists (Al Qaida affiliated terrorists) only comprise 15 to 20% of the rebels. They actually comprise nearly 50%, and their numbers are growing. He will say that only Hitler, Saddam, and Assad have broken an international norm of not using chemical weapons, which is not true. He will not mention that Israel and the United States have used white phosphorus which melts human flesh against the Iraqi and Palestinian men, women, and children. He will not mention that he orders drone attacks that kill women and children on a weekly basis.

Just a question:

Obama said no boots on the ground, but if they conducted classified operations with special forces, he wouldn't have to mention it anyway right? There always seems to be a loophole.

Yes, you are exactly correct!! There are operators (cia, special forces) on the ground....but that is their 'covert' mission. WE will never hear about it. But, I guarantee....they are there!! I guarantee it!!!

NO, the U.S. should not strike Syria (unless it is under a UN mandate, much that I would dislike it even so).

The notion that the US is the "police" of the World is idiotic (and it is mostly propaganda for internal consumption as to gather popular support for all military interventions and maintain the idea of US exception and superiority, moral and otherwise), even if the UN is mostly controlled by Anglo-American interests (as the Israel issue demonstrates) and general corruption (oil for food in Iraq) it is for now the only platform to establish international law.

[That is itself a problem since the idea is to preserve world powers status quo over the rest of the world, as demonstrated by the security council. The UN is itself an organization that was started to impose rules and preserve acquired state rights rather than conceptually establish best practices, it may indeed cause more problems that it really solves.]

A cop is only an agent of the law, if a cop acts as a cop outside of the law it is simply a criminal (hence the steps that the US continually makes to escape the International Court of Justice and other shenanigans...)

As the facts currently stand? No.

If we get new credible information where we find out Syria used chemical weapons on the orders of someone high up in the government? Yes.

Well, after reading everyone's posts and this neat little article posted here - Precious Little Girl Dismembered While She Is Still Alive By Obama’s Psychotic Syrian Rebels, I'd have to say this is just another warped and distorted Obama "Magic Trick".

I vote - NO!

Thanks OP for allowing us to speak out on this critical issue. Hope the world can see that Americans are not behind this megalomaniac embarrassment sitting in the White House!
