I would have to look at a more organized OP comparing disease outbreak and disasters to comet arrivals to know what I really think about it.

Good attitude.
Along with "arrivals" it might be good to try to determine if the Earth passed through the dust tail of the comet around the time of the plagues. That would help in figuring out if the correlation may have implied causation.

Life is in space. When foreign/ alien viruses or bacteria arrive on Earth, won't we know about it in some way as our immune systems would have to fight new invaders potentially.

Exactly. They know shed loads more than they will EVER tell us. There would be the most almighty panic if they announced this, but the clues seem to be escaping, regardless. If they ever do get round to telling us, I'm pretty sure they will already be in their bunkers before they go public with it. I'm curious though...do they want us to know? Are the clues a mistake or are they feeding us enough for the smarts (or conspiracists) to work it out? There is even an idea that whatever is facing us is manufactured to an extend, for their benefit, and for it to work as they intend, they are obliged to tell us somehow...hence rubbishy, over hyped, fictional? films like 2012.

I'm inclined to say that it feels like you're making massive assumptions about my beliefs, and your condescending manner makes me a little crazy. Maybe I should give up and not talk to you any more.

I'd be happier if you really understood the point. Here it is:

A comet does have two tails. One is composed of dust and one is composed of ions. Earth could encounter the dust tail.

The point of me pointing this out is that your ignorance (not in a derogatory sense) does not help you understand the "dangers" of comets. Now, if you like, go back and read a little bit more about the effects of that dust tail without the doom bias. You might want to pay particular attention to the size of the dust particles and exactly what becomes of them.

More people need more constructive things to keep them occupied.

When Halley's comet swung by in the early 1900s people playing with their new spectrometers announced that Arsenic (I think) was detected in the comet and the earth was expected to pass through the dust. There was consequently a panic stirred up by sensationalists that we were all about to be poisoned. Not much ever changes and every comet is now the harbinger of doom.

Just sit back and enjoy the show (assuming there will actually be a show this time)
