I have been hearing rumors and today read a newspaper about applications going to Mars. The paper showed a few faces that seem pretty anxious as well as eager to go to the supposed-ed once living world, and they think it will be a chance in a life time. Can't blame them, being the first set of people stepping, marking a moment in history like Armstrong(fake or not).
www.mars-one.com...

Although I do know there would be challenges in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to colonization, plus the load of equipment they would have to bring. Not mention people got to eat, dispose waste, bath, etc...
I'm quite curious as to how they are getting there though?

Is it going to be the standard rocket fuel, then use the other planets gravity to get there? Or anti-gravity field technology? Snap of there fingers?

Also, I think they should bring plenty of duct tape too.

A combination of the two, yes.
But no Aliens or UFOs will be involved.

Do they have any concept images of the craft that shuttling them there? I recall the paper saying over 140,000 applicants have applied world wide, I don't know what range of numbers they are going to be, but easily in the hundreds, possibly in the 1000s.

I was thinking of a gigantic space ship? lol.

A few ideas floating around.
I'm thinking something like the Apollo vehicles on steroids.

Sounds big.

It could probably be just a handful people anyways.

I just found out it supposed to be four selected applicants that are supposed to be the new residents. 4 out of 140,000 quite a big difference. And then another four after in a few years.

I did a thread on mars one but it got no attention.

I think this is one of the coolest ideas in recent history.

I would love to go to mars, even if it is one way.

I would, but I figured I would be there for a few minutes, and think to myself " I wanna go home." I prefer Oxygen in abundance.

It would be quite amazing event, also would really push the technology. Sand storms would probably be a big problem. Not only that, just 4 candidates, and that's if they manage to handle cabin fever for that amount of time.
I bet they are also bringing vegetation.

It would take a long time before it actually terra formed.

Why are we relying on governments to take us to space? Why not private enterprise?

Until they get to Mars then I guess they will be Aliens travelling in a UFO
