Has anyone else been following the recent events in the
middle east and feeling that something doesn't quite add
up?

Why are France so keen to go to war? Why are the USA
so eager to take military action without waiting on the
findings from the weapons inspectors? Why on earth would
Assad decide to use chemical weapons at this point, when
he was finally starting to get the upper hand militarily, and
when he knew that this would bring America into the war? Is
he really this naive and stupid? Of course not.

And why, with chemical weapons being unleashed so close
to their borders, are Israel being so uncharacteristically
quiet? Why have they not responded to recent threats from
Syria stating that if America attacks, then Israel will suffer
the consequences?

The claims being made by America and the west that Assad
decided it would be strategically advantageous at this point
to unleash chemical weapons makes absolutely no sense
whatsoever. Which leads to the obvious question.....
Who would berefit from this turn of events? And how?

As we all know, Israel have been itching for over a year to
attack Iran to put a stop to their nuclear ambitions. But they
have not had the backing of the American public, and
therefore the American military. As we learned from what
happened in the 70s, Israel cannot risk taking on several enemies at the same time and fighting wars on more than
one front without the backing of the USA. But thus far, the
American government has been limited by reluctance from
the American public to get involved.

However, this recent chemical weapon attack changes all
that. Suddenly America is ready to declare war on Syria.
Iran have already stated that they will support their long
term ally Syria in the event of an American attack, so
America will be at war with both countries. Assad today
made it clear that if he is attacked, then Israel will
suffer...... So suddenly Israel and America are at war with
Syria and Iran - just as Israel have wanted for over a year.

So who has most to gain from the recent use of chemical
weapons in Syria? It certainly isn't the Assad regime. Do
Israel have the resources, means and motives to stage this
attack under the guise of the Assad regime? Absolutely. I
suppose the only real question remaining is just how far the
nations involved will allow themselves to be so blindly (or
perhaps not so blindly in the case of some American
politicians and military) manipulated.

I welcome your thoughts and input.

I've been watching, and reaching most of the same conclusions that you have. Its all about getting a secure and stable state. The Jews have already suffered one of the most despicable acts of genocide that has already been the shame of humanity. If this act doesn't resonate down through the generations , nothing will. Like unfortunate victims they find themselves again threatened with the same again! in word and deed. One thing is for sure, if you and your family got sorted out in the Death camps, any survivor will vow that it will never happen again, and make sure they have the tools at there disposal to make sure it never does. That's what any of us would do. This is deep in the psych. So any one that threatens them with a Nuke, will be taken seriously, and is treading a very fine line .i'm just saying that with this history no one should underestimate Israel, and would be far better advised making friends, because that's all they want.

If a full-blown war erupts between the United States and Syria country that stands to benefit the most will be Saudi Arabia, and they won't even be doing any of the fighting.

If the house of Saud is successful, they will get to pit the two greatest long-term strategic enemies of Sunni Islam against each other - the U.S. and Israel on one side and Shia Islam on the other. The more damage that both sides do to each other the happier some of the Sunnis will be.. Pumped with almost unlimited petrol dollars and their version of Islam they will buy or finance anything and anyone to further their goal of "let there be no other religion but their version of Islam"...Just my opinion of course....

If we here at ATS can see how obvious this little scheme is, then I believe it must be equally obvious to the presidents and politicians.

America and Obama know exactly what is going on, but are happy to go along with it because they, too, will benefit.

It's just sad that all the countries who are usually allies of America, who are refusing to take part (UK, Germany, etc) don't speak out about the real reasons they are refusing to get involved.

Increasingly, the average guy on the street seems to know what is really going on - hence the UK's refusal to get involved. But it seems like the American government are so convinced of the general populations 's servitude and helplessness that they are willing to go ahead with this travesty despite what the majority of the country know, and what they want to happen.
