Kim Jong Un's Ex-Girlfriend Executed: Report

Hyon Song Wol (of "Electric Horse-Lady" fame) was arrested on Aug. 17 along with about a dozen others; Hyon was a singer, and a number of the others were members of the Unhasu Orchestra. They stood accused of making a sex tape and selling it and were shot three days later for violating the country's pornography laws.

Brutal all the way around - though I commend his stance on porn.

'Kim Jong Un has been viciously eliminating anyone who he deems a challenge to his authority,' though it's not clear what challenge the musicians may have posed. Chosun Ilbo reports that it's also unclear if Kim's wife had anything to do with the deaths; before becoming the Dear Leader's spouse she was also in that same orchestra.

If brutality like this is any indication of his character (or hers for that matter) - and I would promote it is - the world better keep a close or closer eye on this leader. Scary stuff that. Then again - it really isn't anything new is it? Henry XIII and all that to name one.

peace

I just read this on a news site. Man! I wonder who is worse ... Kim Jong Un or his wife? Petty jealousy about an old girlfriend ... so they set her and her companions up and machine gun them down .. and ship her family (all the families) off to a work camp. Talk about EVIL ...

His "stance" on porn is to kill anybody who does it. That's something you "commend"?!

I probably would have executed my last girlfriend and my present one too if I had his kind of power. Well, the first one I would have keep caged up at any rate. I wouldn't have done it at my wife's request though, would have put her on the firing line too most likely.

The executing of musicians though indicates to me that this guy is truly evil.

His 'stance' on pornography is to ban it, outlaw it, etc.
Death is the penalty for violating his laws.
And no I don't condone death for porn.

My wife hooked up an old girlfriend of mine with a guy who had irritable bowel syndrome.

And I thought THAT was harsh!

*Welcome to North Korea*

I wonder if current Mrs. Un was behind it?
It has happened before among the elite in similar nations.

lol @ ban on porn.

Dude was probably IN some videos.. without his knowledge?

maybe he has sexual deviance issues and they knew of it..

dead don't talk.

see, when I was a kid, Batman and Robin (US/Brit) were the guys that went around the world taking out bad guys. To me, this would be a JUST war. As the strong, we should protect the weak butalised of the world from predators. NK is a predatory govt.

why aren't we liberating them? anyone being oppressed worse elsewhere?

Obviously there are a number of people who don't know the difference between a 'stance' and 'penalty' - you included Wineofiend.

I agree with his stance on porn. Stance being a position taken during a philosophical argument.

I do not agree with the action he takes when punishing people who break his rules.

Beyond that - the thread is about the leader of Korea North (and/or his wife) murdering a musician who happens to be his 'ex' with very little is any proof to the accusations of a supposed 'sex tape'.

Actually makes me wonder if Kim Jong was on the sex tape and she was murdered for selling it.

I was hoping participants in this thread would come to that same conclusion rather than focusing on personal attacks. Call me shocked it didn‘t happen.

I was posting as you were I see. Yes, that's the question I was in hopes someone would come up with. I was thinking the same. Kim's wife found a few tapes with his ex and he doing the hokey pokey and took things into her own hands one way or another.

Ok Mr. Ned Flanders why do you think we should ban porn? If you don't like porn then don't watch porn, or maybe move to north korea?

I'm more leaning towards South Korean propaganda on this one.
The story was first published by the Chosun Ilbo, a newspaper that is known to have an anti-NK stance.
Not even NK media have said anything about this.

Perhaps the propaganda is used to take the heat off the NIS, which has been making headlines lately due to the presidential election scandal and also yesterday for arresting 3 lawmakers of an opposition party.

You do realize that "his stance on porn" is to execute anyone who violates N. Koreas porn laws right?

Maybe you would like to re-phrase that?

ETA: Now I see above where you have clarified... but I'm still baffled that anyone would say the "commend him" for anything. He's a ruthless dictator who rules with an iron fist and is constantly threatening the free world.

..I'm guessing you're not reading what you are writing. When you say, "Death is the penalty for violating his laws.
And no I don't condone death for porn." The inference is that you condone the death penalty for violating KJU's laws....

~peace... unless you are unlucky enough to live in N. Korea

I am not buying it, with as close as she was to Both the little Emperor and his wife, this is nothing but a cruel closure to some 'nasty' secrets. Knowing the fate of herself and anyone she is in close contact to if she steps outside the laws, no I do not buy this.
