...why does it have to be so lopsided in its madness?

Aren't the progressives pissed off about anything? Hell, the House GOP has been successful in crushing any and all efforts to get this economy off its back, and the rightwing has taken over 35 of our 50 states with all kinds of insanely repressive laws bent on authoritarianism and overt social engineering. Yet all anyone visiting this site ever sees is the same tired 2010-era hair-on-fire ##SNIPPED##classic hits being played over and over again on this station.

I did see one rant about Welfare and Minimum Wage, (it's bracketed in yellow) but who knows, maybe the OP is bitching about Welfare cheats getting too much money. It's just the same crap over and over. This forum is as much fun as speed dating night at the VFW.

Hm, good point.

That's why I tend to simply stay off these forums. I rarely learn anything from them...

What specifically would fix our economy?

Which "repressive" and "authoritarianism" laws are you referring to?

For those who have been asleep for the past decade, we have a 2-headed 1-Party system.

Simply put...In my strong opinion...the answer is what successful capitalists do. Invest in a down economy.

Otherwise...invest in infrastructure improvements, education, new technology, more effcient energy.

That is why the GOP obstructionism drives me nuts...aside from gutting and attacking safety nets for the growing poor population...I don't understand the blockading of investments in the USA and it's people.

Every other country we compete with has and continues to invest in their educational system, infrastructure, energy..

Hell China leads the world in new energy, solar etc. Many democracies simply pay for their peoples college education and healthcare...many have free day-care for kids. They INVEST in thier own economy.

Europe and other countries havet high-speed rail, fiber optic internet, free college education, free healthcare etc. etc. etc.

AND all of that infrastructure and support hasn't created populations of "lazy leeches"...but rather people and economies that are rapidly catching up to the USA and poised to pass us in the near future.

It's not a "socialist" idea...it's a very capitalist idea...what do Billionaires do when the market is down? INVEST.

Just my 2 cents.

Most progressives just ignore the overwhelming and unlimited ignorance currently being spewed by the right-wingers here on ATS. To respond to them is akin to banging your head against a cement wall without a helmet or pissing straight into hurricane force winds expecting not to get wet.

It has now become somewhat of a sport for me to just sit and watch these right-wing trolls reward each other with flags and stars for being in agreement with each other. Which by the way, makes them that much easier to identify.

Prior to the last election, I would often find myself in endless debates with these right-wingers who wouldn't even agree that water was wet, if the President was the one saying that it was. The only thing they know for sure is that they have an overwhelming hatred for our black POTUS and anything that comes out of his mouth.

It's hard to justify wasting time debating such ignorance, so now I just pretty much ignore them. Now to answer your question; It's not that we don't care, we're just not going to lower ourselves to their level. Which by the way, is currently somewhere in the sewer. There are a lot better things to do here on ATS than to occupy oneself with their endless stupidity.

Sorry, these questions are not relevant to the topic of the thread. As with all of these threads, those points are how I view the current political systems, but the topic of the thread concerns the concentration of rightwing political venom within this one forum. The question is probably rhetorical, since it's not that unexpected for conservatives to mass into ideologically friendly environments, and bounce their similar views off one another. That said, I felt it was worth pointing out that this specific forum isn't about US Political Madness per se, but more about US conservative political madness, specifically. Or rather, that it appears to be a ideologically isolated echo chamber for the political right of the US.

Personally, I'm okay with it, since forums like this work to dissipate anxiety and anger, tricking the participants into believing that by posting and debating their views and outrages in public, that they've actually addressed them in a meaningful manner. Hell, I wish that more fringe thinkers would work things out in this manner.

If your question is why do people who have different opinions than I do post in this forum then the answer is easy. You're wrong on just about everything. This is the Internet you know.

Because the ATS Political forums have become a circle jerk of Star and Flag giving for the right wing members.

Look at the posts in the Threads you've highlighted.

All any Right wing member has to do is post what they had for Breakfast and how it doesn't taste as good as it used to because, "it's Obama's fault".........and they all salivate to S&F each other.

It's the same reason that Fox News has the highest viewing figures. They need to self congratulate each other over discovering the latest faux scandal.

Pavlov would be proud.

p.s. S&F

Boy, you sound like someone looking for stars! Post something over the top and surely someone with your view will star you.

Fox news has the highest number of viewers, because it's the only one with a real conservative view. Liberals get, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBCLatino..... do the math.

I say this all the time here. I voted for OBAMA. Only the first time, though. I do not dislike him for being half black, that is ridiculous to an intelligent person, but I do hate that he overtly manipulates us (Trayvon could have been my son) or lies to us (I will stop unlawful searches..) or he creates and forces legislation on us that we have to agree to before we're allowed to know what it is(obamacare). I could go on.

I hated all the Bush-Cheney stood on too.

Maybe if you liberal minded in this thread want to see some liberal threads, you should start some, instead of a wining rant thread on what you clearly don't understand.

I've come to the conclusion that when a Left leaning Thread is started, the Right Wing members don't post so it goes from the front page and dies in obscurity. There aren't that many of us Left wing posters and the ones that are don't tend to trawl these boards 24/7 like a lot of the Right wing ones.

It will be interesting to see if this thread even reaches a second or third page.

Or...... a right leaning MOD throws the thread into the Off Topic discussions board where it quickly dies off.

Okay, I know that's not how it really works. In actuality, they're not quite that obvious. First, the right-leaning MOD will argue a few points until he/she realizes that they are losing the debate. Then, in order to put forth the appearance that they are not abusing their authority, they'll get another MOD to move the thread into the Off Topic boards.

They think that we don't notice what they're doing.

If it reaches a second page it will be surprising. There is nothing to talk about here. Give people credit. Also, in this era in America, liberal ideas, ones the govt sells, wreak of socialist controls. Gun control? Diane Feinstein wants to ban automatic, or semi-automatic weopons. She really wants to ban all guns, she'll tell you herself, but she is trying to start slow and get the most lethal ones out of law abiding citizens hands.

Think about our Constitution and amendments. Why were they written so clearly? Exactly for what is happening right now and happened 250 years ago. An overreaching govt (England) wanted to control and over charge people who had tried to escape such tyranny.

I am (and so are you) probably as smart or more than likely smarter than many who makes our laws of this land. I do not want more needless laws and garnishments of my rights. If our country went back to let's say....1988's laws do you think our nation would better or worse for wear?

your right, as one of the few left-of center members that still argue with these people, it seems that there is simply an agenda to discredit the president, no matter if it is the truth or not. I have had points deducted for my rebukes about the validity of their claims. obviously, my idea of trying to be clever in my wording, rather than use out and out vulgarity, wasn't fully appreciated by some of our MODS. their accumulation of stars and points reminds me of men standing in a round-shaped group, using their hands to fully compliment each other to a mutually satisfying conclusion.

Why does it matter which direction all the threads in this forum lead? If you make a thread calling out the Democrats or if you make one calling out the Republicans you are still calling out the same beast. Contrary to what all these self-congratulating leftists in this thread are saying, both parties do the same things. The reason you see more right leaning threads right now is because the left is in charge at the moment and are therefore in the spotlight. I guarantee you as we approach election times, the threads will become split and then if the the right wins and is in the spotlight, there will be a ton of left leaning threads calling out the right.

It's all a bunch of nonsense at the end of the day. One party tends to be in charge for 8 years then everyone gets sick of their bs and votes for the other party. Then we get the next 8 years with the same garbage going on, just with a new guy in charge. Repeat ad nauseam. It's all an exercise in futility and if the majority of voters could see past the ends of their noses, they'd realize how they are getting played by both parties (who love the bickering because it keeps everyone distracted enough so that nothing ever changes).

Yea now there is a conspiracy to silence the words of the left on this forum...
Do you read what you type? Because that is straight out silly. I have witnessed several left leaning threads started by people posting in this very thread that go on for PAGES.

Jimmy give us some examples would ya? Give us some examples of people making our president out to be something he isn't. I'm sure it happens a lot, but remind me on some.
How about Benghazi, got anything noteworthy on that?

Progressives have little to complain about they got their man in the big office and they own the Senate. Go back to 2007 and see what the posts were like...hint...there was a lot more "I hate Bush" posts than what we see today with Obama.

The difference is you see the right stopping everything the President wants to do, and I see a President unwilling to compromise to work with the other side. He kind of shot himself in the foot his first three years with the attitude that he doesn't need to work with anyone since he is the President. Today he is a little wiser but we might as well call him a lame duck already to think he will get anything done.
