Just seen this via twitter

#CNN's Fred Pleitgen just heard a massive explosion in central Damascus. No other details at this point.

I cannot add more because there are no media reports yet. It might be nothing but it was reported just that it was near to a Hotel. Could be a rebel attack?

More from twitter

@nanabapa2020 There was a blast near Central Damascus where the hotel of the UN team were, its clear the rebels dont want them.

More from twitter

A mortar fell behind the 4 seasons where the chemcial weapons inspector is staying in #Damascus ....interesting timing :-) #Syria

I dont think those inspectors will be in there for long! As soon as they are out the action will start.
edit on 26-8-2013 by jroduk because: (no reason given)

Interesting development.

Rebels take out the UN inspection team, blame/frame Assads government forces for it, and there you have your UN mandate for intervention.

If using gas isnt enough, killing a couple UN investigators might work.

I thought we were all about the WMD? And by "intervention" don't you really mean invasion?

You mean he wrote it / started this thread to garner attention by implying a US missile strike?

Nope!

I did not write it to imply a missile strike!

If any action would have started it would be more that a few mortars

I found it interesting as it was in the area that the UN weapons team was staying!

Careful about regurgitating what the main stream TV media tells us. Especially CNN. The same ones that loyally reported all the other crap about WMD before the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, thats all.

It was not reported on the mainstream media it was a eye witness account of a event that just happened and was reported via twitter!

So what lends this credence again? A Tweet from or about a CNN eyewitness?

I did. Godlike, Reddit and Twitter are the only ones carrying it. But I expected that.

Saying CNN reporter tweeted it just adds to the hype.

I'll give them some credit for evil creativity, as they've demonstrated....and yeah, I do hold that Rabbit against those people

What would be more attention getting than the gas inspectors getting caught in a gas attack? I sure hope the Rebel's supplies were all seized with what was discovered by Gov't forces. That's one dose of cosmic irony the world could do without, I think.
