There are many dynamics associated with the answer to the OP.

is there a understood verbal telepathic visual communication immediately established upon opening door.

if so then 1 would try to ask what the ET is there for?

if it needed help or sent out a sensed SOS and 1 felt I could help perhaps 1 would try to help the CREATOR Creation and then alert it of the GLOBAL forces that may be able to assist it better. And study its response...

If its intelligent enough to process what I am saying and was ok with EA*RTH forces interacting with it.
I would alert it that some how I would find it the best help possible that wouldn't exploit /scare / kill it out of fear and let it stay in my home until I returned Hopefully with respectful EA*RTH force representatives.

I didnt want to have the people of ats reading a post that resembled an autobiography of the planet earth, so I tried to keep it short and simple/sweet with the assumption that we understood there was no problem with communitation between said alien and ourselves....

I hadn't actually thought about this before. I may be wrong, but several decades ago(the 60's and 70's maybe), weren't Martians more commonly depicted as being quite small? like: aww, what a cute lil fella'.
