Obama phone, food stamps, 100 weeks of unemployment checks, welfare, SSI for life, what more could you ask for? Oh, to vote democrat every election?

The T-Party gets to fight back. fair is fair don't you think? Yup!

Oh, I thought when you meant provide for those needs you meant with the current structure.

Hell No!

The current is so broken, its would be waste to try and fix it and we dont have enough to fix it.

I suppose we can print more money.......

Like I was telling Neo, there are so many people who have fallen through the cracks, and there are those who have abused the system to the point it is broken, that Cloward–Piven strategy is working to a tee.

True Story...........

What do you say to a Vet, that is mumbling "kill me" as he walks past you?

Do you call the Police? Do you let him keep walking? Do you even attempt to try and talk with him? Ive seen it.

And I cried that day. And I did nothing. Because there was nothing I felt I could have done to give this person any hope. Scary thought? There are Millions just like him.

With that, I am really out of this thread........

It is unfair, as much as I dislike President Obama's policies and I believe his politics to be a bit....nefarious; he isn't responsible for much of those.

The phone issue was started long before him -- though I would agree that the program has expanded greatly. Food stamps are not new -- though the president, under his administration, has seen the largest growth of said program. This should warrant a separate thread as to why the USDA expanded their program.

Welfare -- you can thank President F. Roosevelt for that expansion. You can also thank nearly every president and every Congress up to this point for it.

SSI for life -- not really sure what you are getting at here? Disability and the growing claims to it?

This paint by talking points doesn't get any of us anywhere. May they be democrat talking points, republican talking points or talking points from the planet Zarthon....

While true all that did greatly expand under his regime we do have his party to thank for people getting paid for doing absolutely nothing, and none of them ever take a look at what they do have, they always cry about what they don't have nothing ever satisfies them.

They have a bad case of the inferiority complex with a side order of stuck in perpetual ID mode anyone who tries to expose that will get 'marginalized' like the manufactured villlain in the op.

I understand there are some members that come to the site-deemed only as one side of it- to counter the other end of the Political spectrum. What ever, we all have our reasons here, but this? A lot of anti Tea Partiers got what they wanted, the mainstream Tea Party is a joke now, overtaken and as claimed(not true) "It's always been Koch!". However, this is shameful. Expected better TBH with included proof. That in itself is vague enough and rather not connected overall, appears rather a setup instead of a group. Any Libertarian, Tea Party people that I know on the coast, not OR but nearby, would never do this. Despite that relation or factor and in any case- It's also an invasion of privacy and illegal as to how the information was obtained and or surmised. There can be suites for libel here. For now, yes... move to the appropriate forum.

It may not be right but I am back to selling cars for a living after losing everything. I got the job while living in my ex in laws garage. I work 6 days a week and drive an old 1989 VW rabbit. i am struggling for my life.

Almost every customer that comes on my lot is on disability SSI. They are buying nice used cars and none of them seems to not be able to work. None. One is now driving a 6 year old Caddy CTS, another a 2008 Caddy DTS, 2010 Chevy Impala. They are healthy as horses, one I see him constantly in his very nice clean CTS go by the dealer 10 times a day, he lives in a subsidized complex across the street. All of these customers are black males.

After my two Cafes I built with blood sweat and tears went under I had no place to live. I was a volunteer firefighter on two fire departments. I went to the department of social services for temporary housing while I was finding a job. I was told to go to the homeless shelter because they said they could not help me.

I am a 51 year old white male. Worked my entire life 50-60 hours 6 days a week.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have long said that reform in social services is necessary... not just to eliminate opportunists, but to also downsize the programs as all of them are bloated and irrationally run. Ever spend time in a DMV where the waiting room was overcrowded and of the 50 employees in plain sight only 2 or 3 appeared to be doing anything? That's what it's like in all government agencies that I've had dealings with.

But here's the other side of the coin and food for thought...

Eliminate all social programs and immediately the need for law enforcement and big government comes back because now there are 30 million people who do not have access to food. Those who are truly needy of help either get charity or die. The opportunists? Some go back to work, others turn to crime. Crime becomes an issue and instead of a nanny state feeding the hungry, you end up with a heavily armed police state that tries to protect the able bodied working from the able bodied crooks.

I say this knowing that the reply will be "I don't need police, I've got the Second Amendment"... but that leads us down the road already mentioned... the Mad Max one.

I don't think the scenarios laid out would happen. The history of massive government social programs goes back to the 1870's. Leaders such as Disraeli and Bismarck laid the groundwork for these institutions. Old age pension, disability insurance, food benefits, and so on trace their modern history in this period. These leaders created "social safety" to reduce and eliminate the attraction of socialism.

If the government were to cut all benefits tomorrow and ignore any pleas for assistance the natural direction of the mass of population would be directed toward socialism. Socialism was a strong force in the mid to late 1800's. The movement was gaining force in those times. Political leaders invented these forms of benefits to curb the growing influence of socialist movements.

They continue these programs to this day. They do so to undermine the forces that would perturb their preeminence. In the present these tendencies have been mollified. In the recent past rulers created these social systems so their own positions and necks would be secured.

I don't see any "Mad Max" scenarios happening if our current government cut social programs. At least, I don't see them happening after the first few months of disorder. I see masses of people attempting to claim what is rightfully theirs. All humans have a right to the natural resources of this planet.

You mean one particular TEA party group. There are literally hundreds of different organic grassroots TEA party groups around the country.

I think the term you are looking for is sleeper cells.

This doesn't surprise me a bit. And as for where they got the information? That's easy, all they have to do is have a conversation with the people in their neighborhood, or go digging through people's garbage or routing through people's mailboxes to find out this sort of information.

These TEA Party "Patriots" probably have an underground network somewhere where they list these "traitors" waiting for the day of the "great cleansing this nation of the infidels".

My question to you is this the same type of shame that the democrats inflict on other people by calling them racist for not agreeing with them???

I don't see this as much different from blowing the whistle on insurance fraud. Public assistance is meant for those who truly need it only and we all know the system is horribly abused. So long as the meaning and intent of this is to expose those abusing the system...I'm all for it.

And if they are posting names...I'm sure those same people are content with the posting of gun owners, the efforts of the NSA and IRS, etc. So...if you can dish it out, you may have to take it also.

ETA: From the brief research I've just done, apparently only a person who works for the government has access to this information. IE if this list is legitimate there is a strong implication that a government employee has violated the law by creating this list.

The problem is, government sucks at securing data. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that data was on an internet facing server, with little to no protection at all.

It happens all the time, google a little too deep and you end up in personal files, I've been there myself. Hell, all of my student loan data, sin card number, bank details, addresses, more than enough to identity theft my ass, was leaked out with thousands of others a few years back.

I don't see anything linking this to the tea party.

I also don't see anything linking this to the "ultra liberal leftists" :/

I'm getting rather tired of this divide and conquer crap, for ATS users, way too many are falling for it hook line and sinker.

Someone needs to look into the Tea Party people doing this and post stuff about them. Who they contribute to, credit history, police records, etc. Unfortunately, this kind of information is not cheap but, could prove problematic for the posters...

This is totally a new low. People on disability are often on it for reasons that are not apparent to those who don't know them. They also have a legal expectation of privacy, and already have to jump through a lot of hoops to get it.

Why is the tea party attacking the people on the lowest end of the spectrum? This is ridiculous. 16*700 = $11,200 a month that was being spent on helping disabled people survive.

What are they trying to accomplish? Destroying their lives to get that money back? Disability payments are probably one of the most cost-efficient programs. What is this money going to go to next?

First of all there is no "the" (definite article) TEA party. There are hundreds of organic, grassroots TEA party groups operating independently in every state. Secondly, no one has yet been able to prove that this was a TEA party group's produced document.

where is "tea party" in this ?

The article has no proof.

just a maniacal ultra left wing 'opinion'.

in my 'opinion', an ultra left wing group is doing this because the ultra left wing policies are under investigation.

it's an old commie trick to cast blame on somebody else to cover your own guilty conduct.

What proof is on that letter?

Other than a 'discerning' Liberal 'news' magazine that uses labels meant to be derogatory?

What proof?

Don't see a TPM header on it.

Don't see nothing on it proving authenticity.

"Don't see nothing???" That translates to "do see something" since a double negative implies a positive. So, what is it that you do see?

Whoever wrote this is a moron. First they quote Franklin regarding the destruction of the REPUBLIC. Then they give their opinion on who exactly is currently destroying our DEMOCRACY. So which one is it? Do we live in a REPUBLIC or a DEMOCRACY? It can't be both, the term Democratic Republic is an oxymoron.
