www.breitbart.com... ork-inside-U-S-Ex-Border-Patrol-agents-American-politicians-helping-cartels-invest-millions-to-build-criminal-network-inside-U-S

In an open letter to the public in late July, several retired Border Patrol agents wrote on behalf of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers to warn that Mexican drug cartels are actively operating inside the United States spending millions every year to try to build their networks here. They argued that American politicians are protecting their activities as well.

“Most heroin, coc aine, meth, and marijuana marketed in the United States is produced outside of our country, and then smuggled into the United States,” they wrote. “The placement of trusted foreign employees inside the United States is imperative to insure success in continuing to supply the demand, and returning the profits to the foreign organization. Members of these vicious transnational crime syndicates are already well established in more than 2,000 American cities and their numbers are increasing as networks expand and demands accelerate. These transnational criminals present a real and present danger to all Americans, and they live among us.”

“Sanctuary cities established throughout the United States discourage even the most basic law enforcement initiatives within their boundaries against these predatory criminals,” they wrote. “Encouraged by Congress and a disinterested mainstream news media, these havens deny the American public their constitutional right to national security and public safety while providing relative safety for dangerous foreign criminals.”

CHICAGO (AP) -- Mexican drug cartels whose operatives once rarely ventured beyond the U.S. border are dispatching some of their most trusted agents to live and work deep inside the United States - an emboldened presence that experts believe is meant to tighten their grip on the world's most lucrative narcotics market and maximize profits.
Many of the deaths in Chicago are turf wars ?

Are there dots to connect or just disconnected splatters?

A two edged ... letter.

First it states what everyone has known since drugs became illegal, that it serves only as a step for those behind the legislators to make money out of the prohibition. There is no point in a prohibition ageist a significant number of the population. There are better ways to go about it and with less evil consequences...

The war on drugs is a farce, it has nothing to do with drugs but with power at home and abroad...

Considering from what I have been told, drugs are cheaper, more avaiable, and are everywhere if one has connections.... I would say, "the War on Drugs is a total failure"...

Not a failure since preventing the traffic is clearly not the principal intention. At best we can say that eliminating competition and reducing distribution channels may be some of the goals. The primal goal is profit and this profit comes in many forms from extending the American industrial complex deals to South America, to validate military interventions and operations, the corruptions of foreign institutions and governance and even the prop up of the domestic security and surveillance apparatus...

It's no different than the CIA or FBI assisting tiny terrorist organizations in the hopes that they lead them to 'bigger fish' so to speak.

It's appalling and to be honest, a weird form of job security for them.
