Hi.

Not sure how this works but what is happening in San Francisco?

www.breakingnews.com...

Reports of power outage in large parts of San Francisco

Twitter....twitter.com...

Not sure....is there a storm up there....it could be nothing.

EDIT.....

www.sfgate.com...

More than 36,000 PG&E customers were without power in San Francisco early Wednesday morning, according to PG&E officials.

EDIT.....

I just checked Intellicast....www.intellicast.com... didn't see any storm. Not sure why there would be a huge power outage. If they are doing 'rolling blackouts' it wouldn't make the news.

Does anyone know what is going on up there?

EDIT....

I can't get the intellicast link to work sorry. (i'm sure you guys can figure it out on your own.)

EDIT.....

Power has been restored to 36 thousand customers in #SANFRANCISCO.Pacific Gas and Electric reports it was a sub station issue.

No news.

I don't know. I can't find anything more on this, not sure it just seemed strange. Hopefully it's no big deal.

Stay safe guys.

It seems to be just this:

SFGate

The outage, impacting 36,895 PG&E customers began late Tuesday night, according to PG&E officials.

So it's no big deal (unless somebody has any first hand info that is)

Aside from that "lady" sounding like a man (like Newman from Seinfeld. lol) , she's a total cook. I hope she goes gets shunned at the end of the month when all that BS she's talking is proven to be false.

On topic: The power outage could be a transformer or a few of them burning out. It happened in my neck of the woods a few years ago. The borough I live in and part of the city were without electricity for anywhere from one to three days depending where you lived.

I think the question is what caused the power outage, the outage was addressed in the OP.

It would seem that SF and the whole East Bay MUD has an aging infrastructure. there was a power outage last month and one before that. Both power outages where caused by power line failures (one being an underground power line).

I live in the East Bay (near San Francisco), our house is on the Hayward fault, Calaveras, and whatever else in between. We've had several incidents of smelling a gas leak in our neighborhood, and PG&E (officially) tells us its nothing or maybe a nearby factory or whatever. A PG&E worker who came to investigate told us face to face, "We have no idea. Seriously, we've been getting these calls more and more. Week after week, we don't know what's causing it." I asked him if it was maybe leaks from the old gas lines that they'd been testing and replacing, since the explosion and fires a couple years back. He said "Let's hope not. You have a checkpoint right in front of your property, but it's very possible."
He seemed at a loss to explain it.
I think the cause is just as likely to be geomagnetic, seismic, solar, meteor, etc. related- as it is to be dangerous outdated infrastructure and/or deliberate (terrorism, falseflag, etc.).
Same situation with power outages, although they've been brief in my area.
Either way, holycrap.
