Everything Zen, Machinehead, Comedown from the first cd are all great songs, most songs off the other cd's after are much less accessible and less commercial.

Radio in Britain has been a stack of nonsense for years in my opinion. I do not know how it is everywhere else in the world, but I hear all the new music in metal via the internet and from friends. I do not listen to the radio, and have not for about a decade and a half, except when its on where ever I happen to go, like in a taxi, or in a cafe or bar. Even the radio stations which like to think they have an extreme outlet, play more Green Day (awful pop punk gremlins) than Black Label Society, and rarely play anything that I would consider extreme, until about two in the morning. Radio in Britain is a total joke in my opinion, promoting only popular (read: lame) music most of the time.

At my place, I stick my earphones in and listen to Youtube vids while messing about on ATS, or hang in my room reading sci fi and espionage thrillers while listening to my CD collection. When ones tastes are as specific as mine, and when there are some artists, bands and groups, played on the radio whose music makes me want to kill people with a club hammer (Abba, Justin Beiber, and so on), its best to avoid the radio, since the only result of listening to it is going to be punctured speaker cones and broken bones.

Radio in this country used to be pretty awesome in my mother and fathers day, but these days its something to tolerate in the background, rather than something to hush your conversation and listen to.

I may not like a persons taste in music but who the hell am I or anyone to criticise?

Probably no one, but that sounds like a personal problem. I can criticize everyone if I want to, and I do.

You can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to. How f***ing stupid they are for one. How deep or shallow they are, how open or close minded they are, etc.

Oh I see now. You were using your edit field to describe your top 10 list, genius.

Quite accurate too, I didn't even have to criticize you! Way to go.

I edited my post after reflecting on the complete waste of time it would be having a discussion about music.
Guess I was right.

By the way, I haven't got a clue what you are trying to say, could you please be a little bit clearer - I appreciate people being forthright.

Oh, I get it now - I'm a bit slow today, been a long day - you're saying the music I listen to is pointless and irrelevant.

Being a musician yourself I bow to your greater knowledge.

Sheesh guys. I was just hoping for a bit of fun, seeing what our top 10 most played songs are and maybe going "ha! I knew I liked that song, but I didn't know I liked it THAT much".

Everyone's taste in music will be different, no need to bag anyone out for it.

...unless its bieber of course.

Curious, have you actually listened to any of the music that made my recent playlist, or anyone else's for that matter?

I tried to listen to yours and view things from your perspective but unfortunately I can't quite get my head up my own arse.

Probably because your down syndrome prevents such feats of contortion. No one wants to listen to your sh*tty playlist, they're all french, british, or scottish punk bands or some synth pop bull sh*t. That list should kill itself.

Nice to see that you have a nice balanced, well rounded view of the world and an appreciation that not everyone is the same.

I don't particularly like many songs that people post here on ATS, but I recognise, appreciate and accept that music is such a varied and at times powerful force and that it's very much 'each to their own'.

As you seem to be such a knowledgeable and distinguished musician perhaps you could post some of your offerings for us all to cast our unqualified opinions on?
