I have an ugly question....

What do you do when you think that a moderator is anything but fair and unbiased? What do "we" as...the "people" do when we think someone needs to have their abusive authority stripped away? What voice do we have to say that we consistently disagree with the positions of someone?

There is an entity on these boards that I personally think is pursuing a personal agenda that I happen to disagree with. They abuse that power and silence those that disagree with them....so what do we do in that situation? I like to pretend in my own mind that I allow for the voice of everyone....even when I don't like what they have to say. I do not have the authority to silence anyone but the moderators do.

Do we make a petition to have them removed? Do we just tolerate their tyrannical reign? Please inform me how this works because I am truly ignorant.

That is the way of the democratic Constitutional Republic...the right to petition....so is that what we do?

I do not really want to cost anyone their job...but then again...yes I do. I am tired of being stepped on and hawked over because I believe in freewill and self determination....I know this is 'your" site and it has it's own rules...even when they fly slap into the face of the founding principles....you are free to operate your site as you see fit. I hope you will follow the notion of our nation...but you can choose to ignore that if it suits your agenda....what I have observed is that you embrace the Bill of rights and the constitution when it serves your selfish needs and ignore them when it does not....

I am fully expecting to be banned for expressing my opinion on this. I know that money talks and bullsh!t walks and I expect to be walking soon. I do not expect for one minute you will defend a poster over a moderator. I will dream of fairness and truth and honesty...but I do not expect to see them implemented...not here....not now. This place is all about the advertising and the cash generators and we all know this....I hope that somewhere deep down in your soul you know this is wrong....people need a place to talk and voice....give it or not....that is YOUR choice....

I have only really ever had one problem with a Mod, for the most part they are fine.

Sometimes if anything i would say they can be too lenient, giving people a little too much slack

Sounds like you are just hacked of at the actions of a mod and are having a bit of a moan.

ATS is like everywhere else in the world it has its good apples and its bad, just like it has its good Mods and its bad Mods.

but really at the end of the day I would have to say over all the moderation team on this site are very good.

If you have a problem use the complaint function not the rant forum..... where this thread really should be...

Moderators are people too. I've had my run-ins, but when you think about ATS remember it's just a chat site. If what you have to post is THAT important then you'd be posting it in the New York Times or some such outlet. Sure, get pissed at a moderator - then let it go.

I am not a perfect being....I sometimes choose poorly how to represent what I am trying to say. That does not make it ok to rip down and destroy a persons thoughts.

I digress...we have it right from the horses mouth that freedom of speech and expression is not welcome here.

Oh well....I kinda liked this place....nice threads and ideas....but the thought police have to go.

I think the best thing to do would be to contact a different mod privately to voice your concerns.

Personally, ive never had a problem with the mods on here.

Nah...there is only one that I seem to have a conflict with. generally speaking, most of my smart@ss gifs and clever pics fly right through....but there is one....no matter what I post...takes issue.

As far as two over the top posts....I was drunk at the time....I have since then taken a mental note to log out and not contribute when beer meets keyboard. I do have some crazy funny gifs that I will use as often as possible....I mean...seriously....the daffy duck gif that 'insinuates"...(does not show) that he is self stroking....is funny as hell....if you cannot find humor in that I suggest you take your pulse...you might be dead.

Oh well....the master has spoken....if he does not find humor in something then it is doomed....I guess he knows all and sees all.....we are just pawns through which they gain revenue....advertising is what it is all about. You do realize that we are talking tens of thousand if not hundreds of thousands of dollars....the more of us that log in and expose ourselves to this media...the more money they make....

the ban on speech is because of search engines....they cannot afford to have parental controls ban them....so they step on your rights to speech so they can make premium dollar, they need to be at the top of the list for all ages....not knocking...just revealing the truth...what a concept....

If you're looking for fairness you'll not find it here. Did you really think you would find it in a place where the guy in charge chose to have "overlord" in his nick? Seems sort of ridiculous when you think about it.

Poor ole out of touch Bill has been a heavy handed dictator in the past.. and he'll continue to be such in the future.

Fortunately, there are ways around the skeptical oppression that radiates down from the top here. You just need to be more committed to your agenda than big bad billy is to his. Or to put it more simply... absolute persistence trumps absolute power in cases like this.

I understand your frustration. As when I was a fairly new member I felt attacked many times by a particular moderator until I finally understood the T&C's and first and foremost my own ignorance that I was blasting on the boards. It's not a personal attack, ATS has a way of helping one better express themselves in a politically correct fashion if you will.
Which is beneficial not only on these forums but in real life as well.

Please don't take it as a attack, it's not meant to be. And all mods follow the same rules.

It was only later that I realized, that mod was helping me (Even maybe without him/her knowing) with my own ignorrant perverted points of view. Some humility on any given scenerio goes a long way.

I do respect certain things....but they are based on mutual respect....not totalitarianism rule....you get my adherence to the rules by including me in the rule making.....not by trying to shove them down my throat.

I will work on my own network.....when the time comes...well...we will work to remove the networks that do not agree with us.....a skinny [######] in a shelter does not make a leader....
