Researchers at Harvard University have created the first noninvasive brain-to-brain interface (BBI) between a human, and a rat.

And just by thinking the right thought they are able to move a rats tail..

This is pretty cool, it seems like the infant stages of telepathy..

When your precious pup bites the UPS man, hogs the neighborhood swingset or goes postal on your couch cushions, you wish you could give the conniving canine a piece of your mind. Yet the reality is, you’re no Dr. Dolittle. Unless you’re one of five researchers over at Harvard University, who have created the first noninvasive brain-to-brain interface (BBI) between a human and a rat.

With the appropriate thought, researchers were able to control a rat’s tail by strapping an EEG-based brain-computer interface (BCI) to their head and a focused ultrasound (FUS) computer-brain interface (CBI) to the mouse. All the acronyms aside,

Thanks for sharing! I believe I had read something like this before. Oh well! It's interesting news to share. I wonder what doors this would open for humanity?

Hopefully we wouldn't abuse this because I believe we can use all kinds of science and technology for good. That will benefit all life on earth.

There is no way I am going to let them hook that stuff to me. I am a mouse. not a rat.
I suppose with this technology they will be able to control us through the fillings in our teeth or through almost any metal on the body. Maybe they already do, how would we even know if it has been going on for generations. We would be acclimated to the mind control already. Most people do not realize how good they could feel if the government didn't use food chemistry to suppress our thinking or weaken us. People were much stronger for their size fifty years ago.

How do people know when they have experienced nothing to have a baseline for comparison.

Unfortunately even though I would save you all after the saving I would become a dictator ruling with an iron fist but covering that fist would be a woolly mitten.

Back to the OP I bet Peta is going to target the scientists who are doing this research, it wouldn't surprise me If an accident happens to them...bloomin PETA pfft.

Wow, the implications are massive; good or bad. This could be good for the elderly or the disabled, however, it could also be bad. Just imagine if someone "controlled" you and made you rob a bank or murder someone they didn't like. This is my issue with technology; no matter how much good a new technology may bring, there is usually an equal amount of evil on the flipside.

1) Genetically modify spiders to come out the size of horses.
2) Connect them to this new technology.
3) Strap a saddle and several rotary cannons to the spider.

BEHOLD MY THOUGHT CONTROLED ARACHNID BATTLEMOUNT!

Freakin EPIC! Scuse me going all mad scientist for a moment there, but the possibilities are pretty staggering!

LOL I had a similar thought, which made me wonder if I'm on here a little too much. First thought was "So one day it will be possible to make someone commit a crime so they can then be arrested and thrown into prison and make the private company that owns the prison that little bit more profit..."
