The folks from the Sunlight Foundation have noticed that the Change.gov website, which was set up by the Obama transition team after the election in 2008 has suddenly been scrubbed of all of its original content. They noted that the front page had pointed to the White House website for a while, but you could still access a variety of old material and agendas. They were wondering why the administration would suddenly pull all that interesting archival information...

This reminds me of when the pigs changed the sign of commandments in Animal Farm. Orwell was not supposed to be a prophet.

Whoops... Guess he only meant whistleblowers who blew the whistle on his enemies and not his friends or his administration.

Maybe they'll update it to simply say "If you've got dirt on any small businesses, regular citizens, or Republicans... we've got your back!"

With each passing day I become more disgusted with this administration and my heart sinks because I realize that whoever comes next will likely just be worse, continuing the constant downward spiral.

Whoever comes next?
I'm not entirely confident there will be a next.
As fast as things are being rewritten and the constitution being ignored, I'm assuming a play to hang on to power will be in the cards.

I honestly had the same fears about Bush and Cheney.. legitimately. But they left office peacefully. I believe Obama will also. It's part of the game I think. Those truly in power don't require their celebrity spokesmodel ( read President ) to serve them for more than 4-8 years. It is in their best interest to let us go back and forth between Democrat and Republican so the blame will forever be shifting, all eyes will be right where they want them to be... and nobody will see what is actually happening.

It's magic. Three card Monty.

Just like everything else he said - he didn't mean it.
He's the destroyer of liberty, and an enemy of truth.

He will leave office. Let's not be silly. Presidents these days are puppets, not the masters.
The illusion of democracy and liberty is the strength of the system, and must be renewed.

I've got Orwells book but haven't got to read it yet. I keep hearing everyone talk about how we're living in an Orwellian society. I can't wait to read 1984! I'm currently re-reading "The Creature from Jekyll Island". Soon I will get to the Book.

I agree, the coming economic collapse is going to make the 2008 recession look like a walk in the park. When we get to about 20 trillion, that's when it will probably go down. Do you listen to Max Keiser?

The text of that page will be here at ATS. I put it in a Snowden thread recently, probably someone else may have too.

This is the Text.

"Protect Whistleblowers: Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process."

I think the white house page was headed something like The Biden and Obama protocol.
