For me, definitely Bob Marley's - War (No More Trouble):

The lyrics are almost literally derived from a speech made by Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie I before the United Nations General Assembly in 1963

This ranks right up there with War Pigs

And then this for something a bit slower

A lot of people have probably never heard it.

It was a war bond
That payed the doctor
When he was born it wasn't easy
He had a fever
and he was dying His dad was fighting across the sea

He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
When he ran into a man who was high
On Gun powder and a federal order
That says you've got to fight and die

He answered I'm a runnin'
from the people who are gunnin' down
the people who are running for life

I just wanted to be free
to be all that I was promised
by the fathers of our fathers long before.
Now it's gettin' kind of queasy
and i'm feelin' kind of seasick
I think that it's time for me to go.

He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
When he ran into a man who was high
On Gun powder and a federal order
That says you've got to fight and die

When the man said surrender
he kept right on a'goin'
he could see his brother Jesus by his side
And they knew he was'nt fakin'
when the bullet started quakin'
through the body of a peacemaker who tried

And he died for his country and he was not mistaken
takin' his body back home
He would'nt go into the far eastern jungle
takin' his body back home

He just wanted to be free
to be all that he was promised
by the fathers of our fathers long before.
And he died for his country and he was not mistaken
takin' his body back home
He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
He was almost to sweet Canada's Border
He was almost to sweet Canada's Border

Well... even as someone who doesn't agree with country vs country warfare, I do have a favorite "war" song. If you're referring to the cliche definition... fighting overseas for our freedoms, all that brainwash...

"Indestructible" By Disturbed.

Although, I have to say, I much prefer to be a freedom fighter. A warrior rather than a soldier.

Here's my favorite freedom fighting song, anger song, happy song, motivational song, prayer song...

This song IS ME COMPLETELY.

What a dreadful bloody mess war is. To return to the OP, spitting someone out with a dishonorable discharge when they have overwhelming psychological scars shows how little we have learned in today's 'professional' armed forces.

Not a song, but a poem:
