So, the OP thinks it's the unions fault, that because of Obamacare, the businesses are reducing their payrolls in order to become small enough so they don't have to supply insurance for their employees, whom we all know, they care so very much about.

Is that what this thread is about?

I thought there had already been a lot of discussion about business people wanting the unions to not be managing their businesses, and now I find out the unions are "making " them reduce their workforce because of the cost of insurance.

What is this world coming too??

Ive been fortunate enough to avoid careers where health care wasn't offered (if you can call them careers). Every job Ive had has offered full coverage so this issue has been peripheral to me (aside from making sure my health plans not changing).

SO recently Ive been taking classes at a JC in my free time (no real goal just putz around learning new stuff) and their is one universal cry I have been hearing from my fellow students who still have to work retail and fast food to survive.

"MY hours have been cut"

I hear it daily, Employer are cutting full time post in mass. Hell its effect my family as well, It happened to my brother who had a full time post in retail with benefits, he was informed he was "demoted" to part time because of the impact of Obama care.

EVEN the benefits he had are now lost.

SO now people will face LESS work hours, and NO INS, plus a TAX for not having INS in the first place.

GEE Thank You Uncle Sam.

Remember its not just Obama, its everyone of our reps that took a POLITICAL side rather than OUR SIDE.

ETA ( That means republicans as well, who did everything they could to make the affordable care act as much of an abortion as possible.) Its like we are the children of two divorcees who'd rather tear each other apart than care for us.

And in the 50s medicaid did not exist, the value of the dollar was more, and there were not 100 million Ameircans on food aid, and 47% of Americans were not working part time.

This is what I was trying to tell folks back when. Socialized medicine is a decent system, as proven in lots of countries. But Obamacare is corporatized medicine. It's not the same thing.

Classic bait and switch.

It's confusing isn't it.

The work hours reductions are a direct result of the ObamaCare mandate, not union actions.

The Unions supported the whole thing before the law was passed.

They campaigned in favor.

Now they have changed their collective minds it seems and don't seem to be offering a direct solution.
All they are doing is demanding that the politicians make the changes.

ObamaCare is not the unions' fault.

Many people gave plenty of warnings about what is now happening.

I would think any normal person would have seen this coming and understood it.

The unions of yesteryear are not the same unions we have today for the most part.

Watch next for wages to fall because of high insurance costs whether it's costs to employers or costs to individuals that won't get policies from a job.

It will be interesting to see how the unions will negotiate new contracts.

Yea !!

That's all well and good, but it is still Obama's fault.

He's the one in the Whitehouse and he's the one who thought all this up and rammed it down our throats!!

It's all his fault !!

My dog just got hit by a car that should have been turned in with the "cash for clunkers" campaign but wasn't!!

It's all Obama's fault.

Ever since he got elected in 2008, no one else has any responsibility for anything.

It's all Obama's fault

good response

I think Obama got sucked in too.

He supported the efforts and the law itself.

Now he has to come up with all the excuses to justify it.

Those excuses are becoming fewer and fewer and more feeble by the minute.

The damage is done and recovery for individuals is getting further and further away from grasp.

It's the fault of every American citizen that thinks he can improve his country by voting in rigged elections, rather than getting out into the streets and defending their ideals with their very lives. The people of Greece, Spain, and Brazil have a hell of a lot more courage than our utterly incompetent, overly medicated and quite zombie like populace. But as long as the Big Macs and Prozacs keep on comin', they're not rioting!

hey, you reap what you sow. The unions were a major driving force to getting Obama elected and in turning having Obamacrap shoved down the rest of America's throats, now they are feeling the heat that many of us have been preaching about. I say good, maybe they will wake up, and if not at least I aint the only one being hurt by it.

Actually, it is Obamas fault. He didnt veto this bill, he didnt speak out against it, he in fact did the complete opposite. Soooo, yep, its his fault and now we are all seeing what the results are, even though some of us have been saying stuff like this will be happening. But hey, keep being sarcastic and denying that Obama had anything to do with it. You will go far.

Sorry, but you are way off. Nothing but wishful thinking and hoping for that happy Utopian thing where everyone's needs are taken care of by the State.

No, i'm sure he really didn't think it all up. But he was sure all for it and clobbered anyone who opposed it. Have you already forgotten his partisan attacks on Republicans for the filibuster?
No, this is what the World Socialists dreamed up long ago, and even Hillary tried to introduce Universal healthcare when she was First Lady. It would be naïve to assume Obama is anything but a front man for a bigger group of people.

AFL-CIO checking in. Unions are a scam. And I would know they rip me off every month for 50 bucks. They do nothing for you and if you need something you can not even contact the gold chain wearing scum bags.

Unions are on the way out. They need to change and change fast. They protect the worst workers and think that will make them stronger.
Think about that for a minute they protect the lazy people who do not even show up for work and then expect companies to bow down to them.

It's wishful thinking to people like you with no imagination or innate drive to do and see good things upon this Earth. Your cowardice is truly disappointing.
