Big blast rocks mosque in Tipton, England

www.presstv.ir

A huge explosion has rocked Tipton, a town in the Sandwell borough of the West Midlands, England, close to the area’s Islamic place of worship, local media reported.

Panicked residents in Tipton reported finding nails and debris scattered close to the mosque shortly after the blast shook the area just after 1pm, British media reported.

Counter-terrorism police are investigating a suspected nail bomb attack at a mosque, according to reports.

Locals were evacuated from their homes

This can't be good. My guess is that this is either retalliation for the Woolwich attack which happened last May, or another group committed this act of terrorism to have it blamed on other parties to cause unrest in an already hectic area.

This is bound to cause anger among the Muslim community as it is the first week of Ramadan.

I hope cooler heads prevail and that this does not escalate into a religous/race war since that is the last thing we need right now.

The details are slim so there is not much else to say other than that we must wait for more details as they are released. I cannot find any mention of this in the mainstream news which I also find odd.

I'm glad to hear this didn't go off a bit later when people would have been injured and killed by it. Shame that it happens in the first place though and I hope they catch the 'mad bomber' sooner than later. This definitely isn't a positive step for community relations, I'm sure.

I haven't even seen this on mainstream news here...

Maybe they're keeping it quiet, as to not deteriorate this into a worse situation.

It does coincide with, Lee Rigby's funeral though.

Not that it would be any more likely than your suggestions; the only other scenario I can come up with is an accidental detonation of a bomb being made or transported. Are there any locals on here? In this instance are the authorities authorized to enter and search the facility for investigative purposes? I have been told that your country is next to impotent against your Muslim invaders, I am saddened to hear it and wonder if this is an instance when the truth of this matter will be exposed or tested?

I destroy them.”

The people who done this, want chaos. Thats the only reason why they are doing it. I bet the people behind this are people who have had violents pasts. They love it, and they hope it will bring more trouble. Its sad, but thats the way the world is. They do this, a muslim group will come along and do something else. Its going to get to the point where people will be too scared to leave their homes, all because of people who crave violence, pain, etc

Its like the person who killed the soldier. He had a history in being in gangs. Being a muslim was just an excuse to do what he loves, and that is inflicting violence on others. And these people who are now targeting muslims, they are using that murder as an excuse for their love of violence and hatred. It just never ends!

The massive blast in Ealing Broadway blew apart the car, shattered windows and shook homes up to half a mile away.

Several people were believed to have been injured in the explosion, seconds after midnight.

The car was left outside the Town House pub just 100 yards from Ealing Broadway Tube and mainline station.

The area was busy with people returning from nights out when the bomb went off, filling the street with a thick cloud of smoke.

Police had received a phone warning shortly before, but they were still evacuating pubs and trying to clear the area when the bomb went off.

I'm glad to see everyone mentioned Shia v Sunni violence that occurs globally, everyday...said no one, ever.

Nope, cross your fingers and jump on the bandwagon of blaming whitey. See how well that turned out with Boston?

Neo96: S&F

I for one have no sympathy for either faction. More like two sides of the same coin. Blowing people up and often self destructing while doing so just shows how civilized the people from 'the cradle of civilization' are. Most telling is the silence and more often the vocalized support of these actions by fellow muslims.

Go ahead, call me a bigot. This is one time where I will unabashedly wear that title with pride. Simply put, a 14th century mentality with 21st century technology is a most dangerous thing indeed.

Reminds me of a old saying. One that I am reminded of everytime I read the "news" because this happens far too often.

"More people have been killed in the name of God then in the name of anyone else in human history combined."

When will people realize this kind of thing has to stop...? Since this has been going on since man was a intelligent race, I would say never. However "intelligent" might not be the best choice of words.

You can read about that bombing here, that news article you're looking at is from August 2001.

And its not even remotely the location of the bombing of this thread.

I apologize if I gave you the impression that I am from the UK, I am not from there. When I said "we" I meant humanity in general. There is enough crap going on that we don't need England to erupt as well.

As for your theory of it being a bomb detonation via fabrication or transportation, it is possible but highly doubtful. I say it is doubtful because we are in the holy month of Ramadan (I am not religious) and a true Muslim would not do anything such as what you mentioned. In your defense, Islam, among all other religions, have been hijacked and there are many extremists who do not represent the religion they claim.

But there could certainly be extremist elements within that Mosque, but all the Muslims I know are very strict when it comes to Ramadan. Even if it wasn't Ramadan, a true Muslim would not commit any act which involves making bombs to eventually be used on people.

No offense, but I find it disrespectful that you automatically believe this to be the fault of the Muslims who were on their way to prayer.

I also found it odd that you called them "Muslim Invaders". From what I can tell they migrated legally so the blame of the influx of non white Christians into the UK should be blamed on the government, but I do acknowledge the friction between Muslims and non Muslims in the UK which may have caused you to make that comment but it still isn't justified in my opinion. This overall attitude (not just you) is part of the problem and is not helping. And yes, I do admit the guilt from both sides but the religion of Islam has been demonized to the point where it is almost socially acceptable to denounce it as evil, when in fact it is not.

Cheers.

That could be a strong possibility after all we are humans, but it could also be the possibility of a bomb going wrong, it does happens too, you know detonate while been made.

So you are saying this mosque and all of its followers had direct involvement of the crimes you posted? What a stupid thing to say. You are then saying it is ok for yourself to be blown up because of the crimes your country has committed. That was beyond dumb.
