The only reason republicans resist obamacare is because it will cost the insurance companies profits. Why in the world would anyone expect an insurance company to lose a dime of billions in profits just to get medical help for a child? That's why republicans refuse health care reform. Money plain and simple. It also goes a long way to show the republican frame of mind. "If the kid can't afford health care then let them die". That's the republican way. Feed the rich.

How will this will cost insurers? Cost is ALWAYS passed on to the consumer which is why this plan is a total train-wreck!
How about stopping the finger-pointing and start getting the government out of the insurance business? We had the best and most affordable healthcare in the world until we introduced the HMO in the 70's. This is what led us into this mess. So, you feel more laws, regulations and mandates will solve the problem the government created in the first place by appointing themselves as healthcare middle-men? Please, don't make me laugh. Blaming Republican's for this mess is so typical of a leftist msnbc finger-pointing parrot.
And before you start screaming for the poor, this country had thousands of charity hospitals before the government got involved and put them right out of business.

We give this government control of our military and we are at war across the globe. We give this administration control of our money are we are going broke. We give them control of the IRS and they abuse its power, control of the NSA and they listen to our conversations. Now we stand by and let them have control over our health care? This government? You know...the ones that have abused their power for their own personal and political reasons? No thanks. Delay it and then kill it.

How do you permanently delay something, that is a contradiction in terms.
I would guess by just not funding it's implementation. This my just be code for repealing it altogether though. A measure I fully support.

No, its code for "We are still gonna charge you all those crazy taxes!"

Oh, you mean the guaranteed profits the Democrats voted into law?

Who's in bed with whom?

The only reason there has been any delay is because of midterm elections. It would be a landslide for republicans once the effects of obamacare are implemented and people realize who forced this on them.

What makes you think it would be a landslide for the republicans? If it would help the republicans win elections, why would they fight the ACA?

Republicans fight the ACA because it might work and their backers are screaming at republicans to kill it.
If they thought it would hurt democrat chances of getting elected, blocking the ACA would be the last thing they would do.

Obamacare has already proven to be beneficial to millions of your fellow Americans. It's only going to keep helping more and more of your fellow Americans every day. It's not going anywhere.

O_o Obamacare would force everyone to have health insurance which means more customers for insruance companies....

its like mandating everyone to buy red hats even if you don't want one.. and if you can't afford one everyone chips in to buy a hat for you cuz you have to have it... that increases you consumer base wiht those who do not buy your hats ... they are forced to buy it... that would increase profits for whoever sells the hats.

as for what kind of health care we get... they don't really care about that they are just insurance companies.

both democrats and republicans favor the rich...

Republican rich folk want government to stay they heck out of their business and to not bother them when the people complain about them.

Democrat rich folk wants the government to mandate the people to consume their products and services.

in both instances they serve the rich, one however gives the illusion that they care about you.

its the difference between obama and bush. Obama smiles and talks sweet to you when he screws you over. bush didn't care enough to smile or talk sweet.

Since obamacare came around I am paying more for my healthcare. This has basically been a pay cut for me

thanks obama.

Who says they are not going to let it through? This is WWE wrestling here, the fights are mostly staged. What do you mean by "it might work?" of course it will work by making insurance companies richer and adding more governmental control of the individual that's the goal. Think about this like car insurance or like votan says above. They are increasing consumer base.

What people really need is catastrophic insurance - car accident (ICU for a week) appendicitis in your kid ($20,000.00?) heart attack - cancer (don't get me started on alternative cures for cancer that big pharma won't look into because they can't make any money off of food).

If people would get smart about "cholesterol pills" and all the psychotropic bull# meds they give out - the US could save trillions on health care.

If you're an adult - watch your blood sugar and blood pressure.

All of those other diseases that people are born with - juvenile diabetes, schizophrenia, bipolar illness, and such - should be covered by medicaid.
