I just noticed this on CNN. I wonder if Snowden will accept or hold off until other offers come through the door. I'm happy to see at least one or two countries standing up to the US.

Here is the link to where I first saw it: Asylum to Snowden - CNN

It should also be noted that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stated "if circumstances permit" I do wonder what he means by if circumstances permit...I guess we will find out in time! There was not much to the article. I will have to hunt for more info.

And to rely to my own thread..it looks like Iceland is out for now.

An Icelandic lawmaker said Snowden would not get citizenship there, it seems that Iceland's parliament refused to vote on an asylum proposal before ending its current session. I don't know when the new parliament season starts, but just how long can Snowden stay holed up in Russia?

Am I correct, all he needs is a passport from somewhere and he will be able to leave? I do wonder just how will he fly, if other counties start also demanding the planes land if flying over their airspace to check if he is on board.

This guy needs a break, and fast!
