WOW! I am Just So Tired Of the CRYBABIES !!!!

I frequent a game site where behavior is deplorable. You ask why do I continue? Not all the people there behave the same way as the "troll" types. They have some nice people that are like me and just want to play games for competition and fun; also, to kill time on real boring days.

Frankly though, I go there for a chance to get away from the outside world and like the old phrase so famously spoken in a movie once, "just when I break away, they pull me back in" or something to that effect. They bring the outside bull with them into the game rooms...political opinions, state of the union addresses, unwanted behavior, accusatory attitudes, etc.

Now, I am certain there are ATS'ers in here that know what I am talking about. It is not just the outside rhetoric, but the behavior in and out of the games, too.

I have never cheated to play a game of anything since I was a kid (and even then, don't remember doing it much), but the insistence of certain players that everyone that beats them cheats is just mind boggling.

Now different games transpire differently after this communication of good sportsmanship.

I play many different games but one of them has to do with playing words with 7 tiles and trying to score as many points as you can off the board as it presents itself during the course of the game; random letters, computer generated and words that are placed by an opponent are all factors involved that are out of any players control.

The obvious difference is the capability to spell words with the letters you are given; different levels of intelligence and different capability to play strategically allow for a disparity often.

This is where the problem comes in; as soon as a word is played that generates a high score the chants of cheater come out. I am above average in ability and my record is often hard for people to look at and not think, "oh, no wonder, they cheat". I know why they cry about it; insecurity. I realize there may be cheats that do play and I think they have their reasons for doing so at the time; insecurity and maybe to teach those a lesson they are playing to be more humble.

Personally, I get satisfaction from playing a fun game and sure I want to win, but I want to be treated with respect either way; I don't want Hi, Gl to dissipate to E** SH** and Die YOU CHEATER.

The good news is they have an option to ignore and I use it often, the bad news is they trash you in the lobby unfairly; then it becomes like high school all over again, cliques and name calling and it just becomes ridiculous.

I have resorted to doing the defensive options before a game and not paying attention to the lobby as often.

Now, I say Hi gl, cover the chat area and if the proverbial sh*t hits the fan then I look to see what their response is; then it either becomes an ignore situation or a ty for the compliment.

The games for me are a distraction and a stress release; I refuse to let jerks get in the way of that.

I wanted to vent and felt this would be the best option; the game sight can only do so much ( this seems to mimic the behavior at ATS sometimes, huh?)

Just remember that most of the players are 12.

No matter where you go to get away from things, as long as other people are about I'm afraid you'll be in a microcosm of a macrocrosm, in the way of society.

Everyone has a different personality, so not everyone will get along.

The only way to eradicate this problem, is to isolate yourself away from human interaction. Otherwise you just have to deal with the behavior of others.

You should play Call of Duity. You'll hear all sorts of lovely friendly banter. Like:

Fkn Noob!
*Racial Expletative* (lots and lots... you can tell that some of these guys have an IQ of 1)
Cheater!
Booster!
Camper! (oh yeah, I said that already... but it's as common as breathing... which of course, is perfectly legal and often required and even the ones screaming it does it)


What I dont get is... everyone pays damn good money to play games like this, but everyone else seems to think that they own you and your game and should be able to tell you how to play it. I mean.. The nerve!

I wish they had these cool emoticons to throw at them .....there isn't a crybaby on here to use but mine would be tears falling from the eyes with windshield wipers. I'll settle for this one for now

I know how you feel, I've been banned and kicked from various battlefield servers for "cheating". Mostly just playing well really. I don't cheat. If I know of a glitch or want to try it, empty server time, I don't do it to screw the other players at all.

But you mentioned a word game. I used to play words with friends a lot, sounds very close to the game you are playing. I showed it to my coworker when he got his smartphone and we started playing. It was fun as usual for awhile until he started spelling words that, clearly, aren't words. So one day as we're near his desk talking, he's playing a turn with someone and I notice his "tactic".

He literally drags every possible combination of letters over every tile until he finds the highest score. Granted, technically, it's not cheating, if you look those words up, most of them do exist. It's the method used, which basically defeats the purpose of the game.

When I told him I was done playing his turns I told him, you aren't cheating, but you are playing like a douche. Take first person shooters (ignoring CoD) for example. It's not technically cheating to say, camp out in a corner behind a door waiting for someone to randomly walk through your crosshairs. But it's entirely lame.

People don't like to lose. I sure don't, but I don't whine about it like some of these kids, and when I say kids, a good chunk of them are actually adults. It's only going to get worse really, as more methods become available to enable cheating, people will continue to accuse everyone who beats them.

Accusing others of cheating because you lose is just as lame as cheating to win a game that is supposed to be for fun; not that it matters, but there is nothing to be gained, no prizes or cash awards, even if there were I still wouldn't cheat.

The fact we have so many people willing to do so is symptomatic of society in general though; those that cry about it and those that do it.

I think exposing cheaters is fine if you have evidence, but to just spout it out is indeed immature behavior, and yes I am sure a great deal of them are adults with a smattering of children thrown in ( supposed to be over 18 on this site in question (yeah right); how hard is it to lie about your age on the internet?

I understand exactly how you feel. My only suggestion is to stop playing multiplayer games.
I have to associate with annoying ass hats I don't know or like most of the day nearly every day in ordinary life,
I play games to escape reality and enjoy myself, I hate the forced socialising in anything multiplayer.
I get that the competition is exciting, but I just can't stand the neccessity to join a group or become a member
of a community of people I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire in real life. Find a single player that's challenging
and gives you the slow adrenaline rush of hard 'achievements' and life will be less stressful.

Come try League of Legends.
