I have going to a library to use their computers for some time. There is this guy that takes my picture with his phone and smiles when he sees me see him do it. He has an out of NJ state ID and claims to drive across the country.

Why would someone do that?

He is a government agent categorizing your behaviour traits and movements for their investigation inventory?

Or he has a crush on you?

Maybe he's taking a picture of something behind you?

Or just wants to remember those moments forever?

Not enough details to really help.

Why don't you ask him why he's doing it?

Probably because it bothers you and its funny to watch your loony mind squirm.

He should take video and put it on Youtube. I imagine that your face looks a lot like grumpy cat while he takes you picture.

How many times has this happened? Is he there every time you go? It may be nothing. On the other hand, he may be a serial killer gathering mementos. [ Although I doubt it ]

Maybe he thinks you're a hottie and stares at your picture while he fantasizes about the two of you alone together on a deserted island. Or maybe he likes your style or thinks you are cool. Or maybe he's an agent of the Antichrist and he's thinking about recruiting you to kick cute puppies. Just ask him next time.

Why would someone do that?

1. How often has this occured ?
2. How do you know what is on his ID ?
3. Was there a 1 on 1 conversation with him, letting you know he "claims to drive across the country." ?

Why not take the advice of -yourmaker- and snap a few photos of him, or at least make him think so ?
See how he likes it ?

If it was me in that instance, I would straight-out ask him why

No-one on ATS can give you a definitive answer to your question.
You are the only one with any control in that situation. If you really want to know... ask!

I just like taking pics. I wrote you a poem too.

Roses are red, my binoculars are blue, your curtains are open, I'm watching you...

What?

Why does every time I make a thread people post antagonizing replies with no real input.

I am not worried about people watching me.

You should be worried about the people watching you.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

What you need to do is call information and get the non-emergency number for the police (Do not call 911 unless its an emergency or they will arrest you). Tell them what is going on, and give them all your information. Be truthful and don't leave anything out or you can be charged with filing a false police report. Anyway, the non-emergency operators are very helpful and will decide if they feel they need to send an officer out.

This guy could be a predator, and could very well be stalking you, so you should at least call and get advice from your local police.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Would there be a difference to you whether he uses a camera or his phone? Photographers take pictures of subjects... including people.

I've got to be honest.....what sort of replies did you think you would get?......how could anyone here possibly know why this guy is taking your picture?

Same thing happened to me a few months ago at the airport when I noticed a lady taking a photo of me. When I asked her why, she said I looked exactly like her nephew. She even showed me a photo of him, and in fact we did look alike.
