ATS, I'm one proud momma! Just had to share this with my friends.

We're on vacation and my son, who has a form of autism, actually swam in the pool this evening! This is huge for us....he has never gone further than the first step in the pool. To see him on his belly, kicking and moving his arms while I supported him, was amazing. To see how happy and proud he was...priceless.

This is a huge breakthrough for my baby!!!

So happy for you. My son too had different adjustments problems and I know how encouraging every bit of progress is for parents. Takes a lot of love and patience. Congratulations.

Hi Smellygirl
(hehe sorry i just had to after seeing one of your posts last week).

Congratulations my dear and even more importantly, congratulations to your son for achieving this!

One of my sons also has a handicap but which affects motricity... so i know exactly what types of emotions you feel to see and share with the little feller when what might be a simple effort for some is a large wall for others.

Kindest respects

Rodinus

Hi sweet young lady. That is way cool! Those are the kinda moments that become engraved in our hearts and minds and warm our soul. I am so happy for you and the youngin!
I hope you get a chance to take pics or videos when he does it again. I am so pleased to hear about it as i know you have had a lot on your plate of late and when good stuff happens...it's the best!
He's gonna be fine and start doing even more neat things as time passes. He is prescious and a treasure and anyone here who knows you, knows you love him beyond measure....yikes, I kinda made a poem. Hugs to you my friend and keep on keepin on. There are a lot more good times ahead for you and your son, I just know it and can hardly wait to hear of future good news.
Keep us posted. Hugs, J.
