Those chicken things may very well be swimming penguins because I consulted my wife by blindly showing her a printed C size plot( 17 x 22inch printout) of the map without giving her any warning and she said "wow, they knew about the penguins back then"

I'm still on the fence regarding it.

From a purely artistic standpoint, the top portion of the head reveals darker patches of shading on the right which means a light source is coming from that side.

But ironically, the lower left portion of the head has shading coming from the left.

2 different sources of light casting shadows on this subject? Wonder what the artist was thinking.

Also not sure if pareidolia but I see a face in the scepter's ball that looks kinda like da vinci or something.
Like an old bearded man's face looking kind of solemn towards the map.
