Help I'm a E-hoarder.

I'm in the process of simplifying my life. I started to clear my emails, I didn't realize I was that bad.

Anyone else struggle with E Hording?

According to the research firm Basex, information overload costs the U.S. economy a minimum of $900 billion per year in lowered employee productivity and reduced innovation. It adds time to normal tasks and creates stress.
E-Hoarding Is Unhealthy

No. I'm just crap at emptying my inbox but I wouldn't call that hoarding.

If you Push CRTL A and then Push Del it will all go away. I Promise.

Most of mine are calendars reminders and various other spam.
Don't know why I just can't delete them or unsubscribe.

Edit: I got it down to 8,800 read 4,000 unread. My goal is to have zero unread by ths time tomorrow.

Currently I have 18,316 unread emails.

I don't think of it as hoarding, but more like archiving an e life lol

I had over 18,000 emails from my job (work related, not spam) in one year. I was using Outlook at the time, it crashed and the computer retrieved and thought an error occurred when they saw 18k emails.

I'm the same way. I never delete as I think I will need to reference them again someday.

I use gmail now so all emails are protected in a cloud environment

I am a compulsive "filer" - everything gets put in folders. Back when I still used Outlook/Windows, I had emails going back to 1988 - over 3GB of just email. Thankfully when Windows crashed on 2 of my computers at the same time last year, all that archive was lost. Free at last, free at last.... with linux I am free at last.

Except for gmail, of course!

30,826 and counting. Google told me I'd never have to delete another e-mail when I first got the account.

So I haven't.

I'm not a horder, I'm just testing out Google's promise.

I can't believe how easy it was to accumulate so much. It's defiantly a discipline to keep the inbox organize.

Thanks for your comments.

Cool thanks for asking. It took me longer than I thought.
I was able to get down to 200 unread. I discovered I was receiving emails from an old account I had linked to my gmail, there was a ton of spam in there. So I'm deleting accounts and Unsubscribing to the unwanted updates.

So instead of fighting this every day, I have a plan...
Get Free Tuesdays.
While I will try and delete or archive my emails as I read them I will for sure on Tuesday mornings go through my emails and clean it out, along with the other various junk I collected throughout the week.

Don't think I will ever eliminate my procrastination issues. but I can try to plan my procrastination.

The 200 hundred I have left will be gone tomorrow.

Thanks
