Why are you seeking validation ?

As an Aussie who has spent some time in the US, I can tell you first hand that they are a friendly, interested and extremely polite nation - from my experience.
Crikey ! They were even apologising for the then Pres. G.W.B. !!

Don't really understand what you are looking to achieve here.
The US and Oz. make a nice interchange.
We can relate to each other and appear to have each others back. Sure there have been some niggles among the threads, however I see this more as personal passion rather than an inherent dis-like.

Look no one gets this thread yet i made it so clear at the start. Your all sounding like tour guides or diplomatic liaison officers between the two nations. I couldnt careless about nationality or who has got whos back( looks like one of gwbs statements or John Howard one time statements) i was actually trying get some idea why so many john birch style conspiracies simply dont fly in Australia, well i mean they dont the vast majority of aussies are not interested sites like ats all, there is no where even close to a ground swell of discontent among the populace about anything down under folks are completely docile about the idea of being controlled and losing civil liberties.

A very small minority of aussies or the loonie fringe if you will. I dont mind being counted in that number though some here seem to want to have it both ways. e.g. claiming model citizenship while posting paranoid seditious government &society bashing the two dont go together you cant have it both ways your either against the status qou or you aint. Frankly i dont believe the right wing can be alternative either but many americans seem to think it can, another thing that doesnt fly in Australia clearly only the left can be radical alternative here.

Have just read your OP and no other comments, so speaking entirely for myself. I don't know who said things that made you think Americans look down on Australia and/or their people. For my part, and anyone in the US that I have ever had a conversation with where Australia and their people were mentioned, ONLY good things were said.

Man, you people have almost a world unto yourselves, with wildlife seen nowhere else. I have always wanted to visit Australia b/c it seems like an amazingly unique place! And I love the accent.

Know this: if people put it down, you can be 99% sure they are just jealous. (The other 1% are either ignorant or just haters.) So there you have it, straight from an American's doorstep to yours. Any more questions?

Not sure what you men by that! Everyone is different some idolise americans. Mainly Hollywood celebrities some dont.
Some are rural folks love guns(now illegal here, for most lawabiding citizens, unless farmers) and self sufficiency.
Some are urban & very reliant on the man(employer/business). Until you narrow it down a bit got no idea who or what group your referring to. Sweeping Generalisations are very foolish.

If it does not exist for aussies then their is no way it is global or even real since something that was globally accepted as a conspiracy would be accepted everywhere and the facts are such conspiracies are not!

There is one thing though, I can point to, and you can decide for yourself. Every time America engages in military action (lately), it's for one reason....to oust a leader who is pushing to go away from the dollar as the base oil currency. Simple as that. Has nothing to do with terrorism....nothing to do with spreading democracy....nothing to do with the UN or sanctions, etc. Sure, these may be used as justification....but this simple thing, should point to some kind of global conspiracy, whether you call it NWO or something else....there is some grand orchestration here.

As for just talking, well what else is there? Without those kinds of resources, all one can do is try and spread the word about it, while we still have SOME power remaining with the people...and still have the power of a vote.

Although I`m Aussie and also someone who holds ATS and its members (vast majority American) moderates/Adim in overall high regard I`ll say a little on what I think and what I`ve seen and heard.

Yes they do in general and we are almost insignificant in power in comparison in the world, so I don`t see why they should see it otherwise.

Over the years I mainly just read and the amount of times an American has called Aussies gutless cowards for giving up our rights in regard to guns and that we are apart of the NWO because we did and that we are at the ass end of the world (meant in a derogatory fashion) etc after awhile has gotten my goat, many think that we owe them all our lives for eternity due to WW11 anyway regardless of how or what their country does.

I`ve been involved with quite a few heated discussions where Americans have called us all just a bunch of racists, one thread was triggered by their own main stream media saying we were due to a cricket KFC Ad and fried chicken, which means something totally different over here than there.

I was vocal and supported one of their soldiers not long after 9-11 after he refused to go and fight in Iraq, he signed up because of the event on 9-11 and fought to bring those to justice who were supposedly in Afghanistan only to be told later to also go to Iraq, some Americans dripped venom and many were calling for this guys head, literally. While saying the same to myself even though our country gave our support and our soldiers lives and our tax payers money based on a pile of crap to only further and follow their agenda. Just after our country gave our support one American flew an Aussie flag next to an American flag out the front of his house and the Authorities told him to take it down and due to many complaints.

I hate seeing and hearing so many senseless deaths in America and else where and don`t want Australia to become like America in this regard and in others which is why I`m not pro gun, that makes me straight up an enemy in the eye`s of most Americans here on ATS.

I have heard many americans claim Australia is not really country with an independent identity as it is tied to the british crown and has never become a republic thus forged its own identity

Yeah that does come up a lot, your average Aussie most differently doesn't` see it that way even if it is technically true. So its going to come across as insulting to many of us.

Finally generally speaking do any of you give # what Australians think perhaps it is just me many seem to ignore me here so just curious. Also do you dislike left wing Aussies more than other Aussies.

I know I`m interested in other peoples cultures and how they live, I can`t speak for anyone else and I like to think other people around the world think likewise but everyone's different.

Toward yourself? personally I don`t understand much of it when your talking about the left wing, right drum stick whatever, I can`t stand politics as it is and this two party parade farce. That's kinda why imo they call it political madness and Aussie politic discussions should be thrown in that forum with the Americans, its the same thing.

Thank you for your respect shown & reasonable response. This is more like the kind of response i was after! Some clearly dont think I am worthy of their respect. Why simply because I am an aussie it seems!
