One person killed another person. Does it matter who, what, where, when, how or why?

OF COURSE it matters. It could have been murder. It could have been self defense. It could have been accidental (manslaughter). It matters a whole lot because justice needs to happen. Justice for Martin or justice for Zimmerman. It matters a whole lot.
What self defense? Getting your @$$ kicked by someone else, doesn't give you a right to shoot and kill them. It would have been different, if Zimmerman was getting jumped by a gang of people, then shot someone dead. Accidental???
I won't even go there on that one.

I think you are missing an "alleged" between your "an" and "attack."

You may have had a point IF TM was in an area he had no business being in. But, sadly for the defense, the kid was going home (to his father's fiances condo). Was real close to where he would have entered the residence, was doing nothing wrong and was armed with an ice tea and a bag of skittles, was being stalked by a "creepy azz cracker", and was fearful enough to start running away from him.

I applaud your honesty, but not many people would agree with you.

I do not understand why a black person would call another or themselves a derogatory racial slur. I personally think that anyone using a racial slur to describe themselves or anyone else are more than likely racist. You do not use those types of words unless you have hatred in you.

This is a ballsy attempt to impute some kind of original sin to Martin. Hats off, it's a new one.

I note that Martin can be adjudged - by you - to be filled with hate. But any attempt to divine the motives of Zimmerman is off limits, unfair etc. I hope there's no racial motive behind that, but I wonder...

I don't know what GZ's motives were, only he really knows what they were/are. I know in his phone call to the police that he did not use a racial slur. I do know that in TM's phone conversation he did use a racial slur about GZ. Now it is possible that GZ used racial slurs towards TM that we didn't hear, we will never know because if he did GZ will never admit it. I hope that there was no racial motive behind it either and I do truly wonder if GZ thought just because TM was a black teenage boy walking down the street that he was up to no good, if GZ would have seen an Asian, White or Hispanic teenage boy doing the same thing if he would have acted the same way that he did. We will really never know.

Oh junior ... my degree is in psychology. And it fits perfectly.
Go to college. Educate yourself. You'll figure it all out. Good luck to you ....

Of course it is!

In which case you are in the perfect position to analyse the psychology behind your refusal to address my question. And your need to take such desperate, tearful offence at being called after somebody who beats slaves. On someone else's behalf.

The prosecution in the Anthony case didn't have a case and they over charged. They also got caught, busted cold, I should say fabricating evidence in front of the jury and on national tv, with respect to the 81 times searching for chloroform. Ashton also did other kinky things during that trial. If you want to debate them I will have some coffee and go to it with you. Why do you think he announced his retirement the day after the verdict came down. He was forced out because of his behavior during that trial. He is what you call a scumbag prosecutor.

Crackers ... those who would whip the slaves in the fields during the civil war.
To call a white person a cracker is just as bad as calling a black person the 'n' word.
It's hateful. It's degrading. It's unnecessary. It's ignorant.

You are way off. Sure cracker is used as a racist term for white people but the origin of the word is far from racist.

Cattle ranchers especially in Florida were called crackers because of the the whips they used to herd cattle. The term Florida cracker used to mean a person who herds cattle. Nothing racist about that word back then, however in the ignorant society we live it has become a racist term, like negro.

It looks like the prosecution is falling apart, the witness whose testimony resulted in charges on Zimmerman lied under oath, if Zimmerman were to be caught lying under oath I believe he would be charged with perjury on the spot. We know that will never happen with that witness.

It is tragic that a young man died that night, however it seems to be that Zimmerman's story is good enough to walk, especially when the prosecutors can not bring forth a reliable witness to refute Z's story.

firstly the term "cracker" will never hold as much weight a the "n word".

Because people give it a free pass when in fact the hate behind that word is just as deep.

Yeah, years of being enslaved, forced to use different amenities, get served last in shops, sit at the back of the bus, and step off the sidewalk when a white person passes, that stuff is definitely almost as bad as, um, having to whip black people for not working hard enough.

Actually a holocaust/genocide did happen in America, but that is way off topic.

I do believe Zimmerman will walk.

Not sure if this has been posted. She admits she didn't write the letter to TM parents that she claimed she did. And who in the hell can't read cursive at 19 years old??? Florida schools most not GAS about their students!

Why do you supose Travon couldn't make the 70 yard run to his fathers house in the 3-6 minute time span he had available? Especially since you seem convinced he was nothing more than a frightened teen running away from some scary stalker.

Just curious...

If I were to put myself in GZ's place and I was in a white only or Hispanic only neighborhood and I saw a black man in a hood ducking in and out of driveways and houses, I would be very cautious and suspicious of him. And if I was following him and he turned and started calling me racial names and telling me he was going to roll me in the grass, and I had a gun, I would protect myself from him if he came at me. But unlike Zimmerman, I wouldn't wait to have my head bounced a few times on the pavement before popping him a few times.

And this scenario could be the same if it were a black only neighborhood and a Hispanic or white man were doing the same thing and it was the black man who was getting a head bopping on the pavement. Anyone would be stupid not to protect their lives in that event. And I don't care that Martin had a bag of skiddles, He hated the cracker and that was that.

It is also slang used by both blacks and whites. The end of that word has an "a" pronunciation and not an "r". It is slang and it is like saying "dude". Yes the "n" word is an awful, angry, racist word when used in a name-calling context and you use the form of the word that ends with an "r'.

There is also a slang version of the word that ends with the "a" sound. It is used amongst all races in the US, and particularly amongst teens and other young people. It is NOT racist in it's application.

Was there some law that said he had to go inside. I don't know what the kid was thinking but he certainly wasn't running towards the "creepy cracker". Maybe he was attempting to call his dad or something to come outside. I don't know. But he was "running away" according to Zimmerman's own words during his 911 call. And Zimmerman gave chase. Those are your boy's own words. We don't need any star witness to establish those facts.

You have the legal right to shoot an attacker (armed or unarmed) if you believe your life is in danger. It doesn't matter if there is one attacker or one hundred. If you slam my head into the pavement, I will shoot you. And after a long drawn out overhyped trial I will walk free. Why do you think we have guns?

She never said she wrote the letter. She said she had a friend help her. She obviously has a learning disability, that would be why she is 19 and entering her senior year in high school and will be 20 if she graduates during this school year.
