Yes. Kind of anticlimactic, if you ask me. I was hoping she'd drop a bomb like they were 3 feet apart.

They also established that it couldn't have been fired by accident, so there's that, too.

Either way ... pushing into it or in front of it ... the gun was touching the sweatshirt.
That means Martin wasn't backing away .. he was right on top of Zimmerman.
(or Zimmerman was right on top of Martin)
The eyewitness John Good put Martin on top of Zimmerman.
The gunshot happened seconds after he lost sight of them.
Their positions COULD have changed ... but we don't have any evidence of it.

When you've just done it when you have got out of a vehicle to enter a darkened area, and later say you forgot you had it, it does raise an element of doubt about such a claim.

yes and no, Sometimes i put my keys in my pocket, then look all over the house for them for 20 min and latter find out there in my pocket. there are some holsters that are so confortable that you forget your carrying a gun. Happens sometimes with people I know. If you have not been around guns your who life it would sound suspicious. But if you have, it’s like any other tool and it’s only a 2nd thought

Zimmerman always said that he did the shooting and that it was no accident.
I suppose this testimony serves a purpose ... but it isn't providing anything new with that.
The important info comes with 'how far was the gun from Martin' when it went off.
Answer ... it was touching him.
So Martin wasn't backing off. Zimmerman and Martin were nose to nose .....

You keep typing GM. I wouldn't call you out on it, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time you've typed GM. Do you mean TM or GZ?

i have a dyslexia, sometimes when i rush when i type i do that. if you notice sometimes i leave letters off words to.
and sometimes my mind gets ahead of my fingers.

Carrying a gun should never be something you become that blase about that you forget you are carrying it. A person can't steal your car keys and use them to shoot someone.

Don't worry about it. That happens to me and I don't have dyslexia.
You are doing fine.

ETA .. try spelling things out more .. it might help.
(I have dyscalculatia now .. so I understand)

Americans still think they live in the wild wild west, with their guns attached to their hips. Where i live, would make those COWARDS shiver in their boots, without their comfort piece!!!

Oh I have no doubt GZ shot TM on purpose. I also believe it was justified. And I still have no dog in this fight. This was Darwinism in motion, natural selection. I know that may come of as cruel but I'm not trying to be cruel. Before I get accused of rooting for GZ I wanted to say that if the allegations of him molesting his cousin are true I think it's a shame GZ wasn't shooting with those magic bullets that killed Kennedy. One that could hit its target then turn 180 degrees and end up in his own head

It's painfully obvious that you aren't watching the trial.

Dude .. seriously ...
Dude seriously to you. HE KILLED SOMEONE and you people are justifying it! I don't give a crap about his color, his background, his upbringing. Zimmerman shot and KILLED Martin. #End of friggin' story!

BOOM .... Defense just turned the witness. She just destroyed what the prosecution said in opening statements. The prosecution said that the gun was 'pressed against' the hoodie/chest of Martin. This witness said that only sometimes it is possible to know if it is touching or pressed ... but in this case the markers for 'pressed' weren't there.

She just discredited the prosecutions opening remarks on this.

NEXT WITNESS .... (prosecution is running out of them)

How off topic can you possibly get? Roe vs Wade has nothing to do with this thread and this topic.

Gun Expert Testimony: Nothing to see here, pretty much what we all expected I think.

One thing I did find odd was the defense's line of question about how safe the gun is. As he ended that line of question he asked something that I thought was a mistake.

Q: Do Law Enforcement Officers keep there guns in a ready to fire position?

A: Yes I believe they do.

I just found that to be an odd question since Zimmerman is not LE and I was under the impression the defense wanted to get away from the idea that Zimmerman was a wanna be cop. Not really saying much it about it, it won't make or break anyone's case and more than likely the Jury will not even remember that question (or this testimony for that matter), after it is all said and done.

Are you sure? What did the ME say who examined the body?

I'm assuming the ME has testified? I usually miss the first hour of the trial due to work so it is possible I missed it, hence why I am asking.

zimmerman is walking free. I would be Surprised if he didn’t. Now there’s threats of “Riots” if he’s let go. That’s fine, let them burn down there own homes and towns.

Sorry to disappoint you, but they've recorded him racking his firearm on his nen call. The defence thought the audio expert was only there to testify about who did the yelling, but they've done some more tests. That's what I'd have done, anyway.

sorry to disappoint you, but "racking" his firearm to confront a suspicious person doesn’t mean anything. Cops walk around with a round in the chamber all the time, are they out to shoot people? My family members have concealed weapons permits and carry with a round in the chamber, are they out to kill people? NO

you chamber a round to be ready for the unknown. If he wanted to kill him with intent then he would not have allowed martin to punch him first, straddle him, bang his head on concrete, before shooting him. Why does it matter if he chambered a round?

When I had my house alarm go off a few month ago because someone was breaking into my house, I chambered a round into my .45 as I walked down the stairs. Guess im a killer huh, no, i was getting ready for the unknown that could have been around the corner.

Good point. I have always questioned why GZ would get in a wrestling match with TM where there was a chance GZ could've got his ass kicked a lot worse than he did or present a chance for TM to take his gun and use it against him. If GZ was a hothead with the initial intention to shoot TM, why did he let TM get that close to him?

That's not what I understood. She said it would have to be wrapped beyond a certain point to show a different pattern. Touching the shirt and pressed into the shirt would show the same pattern.

I don't understand the significance, but that's what I understood.
