I only saw this this morning, apologies if its already posted.
www.telegraph.co.uk...
The NGO which has been responsible for recording and reporting the 'increase' in attacks on muslims following the murder of Lee Rigby are to have
their funding withdrawn.
The Tell Mama organisation is to lose it's monies after massive discrepancies have been found between their statistics and those reported to the
police.
Tell Mama and Mr Mughal did not mention, however, that 57 per cent of the 212 reports referred to activity that took place only online, mainly
offensive postings on Twitter and Facebook, or that a further 16 per cent of the 212 reports had not been verified. Not all the online abuse even
originated in Britain.
So after a few weeks of drumming into us that anti muslim attacks are on the massive increase, and their founder telling us that
said he saw “no end to this cycle of violence”, describing it as “unprecedented”.
It turns out to be at best an exaggeration and at worst lies.
I've seen it reported verbatim on here. Various posters in various threads have parroted the lie and no one ever thought to question it. People
have on ATS have helped spread the lie that muslim attacks have increased and that they can't walk the streets else in fear of attacks.
All lies.
Contrary to the group’s claim of a “cycle of violence” and a “sustained wave of attacks”, only 17 of the 212 incidents, 8 per cent,
involved the physical targeting of people and there were no attacks on anyone serious enough to require medical treatment.
I'm not condoning these attacks, but it's not the rampant EDL hatefest some posters on here would have us believe.
Wonder how many people will even notice this fact? For once the lie is out there, it never gets put back in the bottle.
