This is just happening now, forgive me if the thread is in the wrong forum.

The Brooklyn Bridge is shut down in both directions as police respond to an abandoned vehicle.

Anyone else have video/radio feeds or any updates/developments? Anyone in the area?

I saw nothing in the news here. Then again, it's a holiday.

An unattended, Manhattan-bound SUV was being investigated by the police bomb squad, said New York Police Lieutenant John Grimpel. The historic bridge had been closed since 5:15 p.m.

"The bomb squad is responding to deem it safe or unsafe," Grimpel said.

WCBS Radio's traffic correspondent reported the vehicle had no license plates. With all lanes of the bridge, including pedestrian walkways, closed in both directions at the end of a holiday weekend, traffic was thick and backed up around the bridge, WCBS Radio reported.

Maybe someone stopped and jumped off the bridge.
I bet that's what happened.
Who knows, hope it's something dumb and not a bomb.

Well it has no VIN or License plates. Just saw the dog check it out, it seems like it may just be a stolen vehicle. Let's hope that's all this is.

Looks like they found a bag, probably what prompted the closure.

Looks like its all clear.

The car was found abandoned and without a license plate

Wow I never knew that parking an unlicensed car in a random location can cause such paranoya and chaos. The US is 100% doomed... heck, the whole world is doomed.

Once we can't trust what is around us, we are to be doomed.

Just to add, wasn't there a similar incident like this in New York, but on a different bridge?

Um okay, all clear, but where's the answer to question why they closed the bridge in the first place?

Well I guess you can never be too safe, but can you ever be too paranoid?

That's weird that it was just abandoned with no license plates or anything... What was it doing there in the first place if nothing was out of the ordinary?

I bet it was just a stolen car that got ditched.

I'm on to you thesmokingman bringing dis-info to the thread.

We both know this is the work of one of your super secret agent spies who drive about in unmarked SUV's and randomly jump off bridges and what not only to be never heard of or seen again... What were you after this time eh?

Was he successful in his retrieval? I hope not
