Me too. I get a weird chill up my spine every time I'm on an elevated platform while I'm in my car. I hope everyone is ok!!

I know many bridges are coming up to their life expectancy, surprised this hasn't happened more often.

Wow, that looks like the calmest bridge collapse scenario I have ever seen.

Has anyone checked to see if HAARP was turned on?

I bet you there is something fishy going on. Coincidence? Bridges falling just after the recent events?

Something is definitely not right with this.

I remember the interstate bridge over the Mississippi in Minneapolis collapsed. The death toll was minimal, I was surprised - that's a busy bridge up there.

Hope everyone is o.k. there in WA.

Little or no maintenance on the highway infrastructure.

I did post this in the right forum no? I wasn't aware I implied this was a conspiracy.

Simple fact that little work gets done on our infrastructure and the time spent on inspecting is limited.

A couple of years back, the Sacramento Bee (the biggest paper in the valley, that crushed the competition) ran an article on the state of bridges in the state.
There is a bridge on I-80 that crosses the sacramento river.
It is A HUGE ONE 3 or 4 lanes each way and very high, it had I believe 600 cracks in the structure, that still have not been fixed.
This will make wonderful horrible headlines someday.

If only folks were not greedy in their positions and actually worked for the people and fixed the infrastructure before lives were lost...
Maybe the next officials after the coming revolution will take their jobs seriously.

Maintenance and upkeep is required. Haarp didn't contribute to this, it came about due to misguided priorities coupled with a poor value set communally.

Respectfully.

Yep, left to them self, things often fall apart.
The bigger surprise should be that more bridges are not not failing.

Actually, about an hour from me is the Gardiner Expressway, it is one of the main highways for Toronto, one of Canada's biggest cities.....and it is literally falling apart and there is no time or money to fix it.

I won't drive on it and we are lucky we don't get many earthquakes, because if anything moderate will take that freeway down into a pile of rubble.

Wouldn't that have been something...

Instead of giving trillions of dollars to self centered banks and cross your fingers for a "trickle down," Imagine trillions of dollars spent on failing infrastructure and GUARANTEED trickle UP.

Don't anyone do anything that makes sense though. Might frighten the old people that have spent there whole lives dealing with this psychotic BS.

Uh...

What "recent events" out of the infinite possibilities are you talking about?

/offtopic

I hope everyone is ok...

I-5 is a fairly major artery, I wonder what kind of secondary routes there are through the area. That could really snarl up things like gas deliveries, which usually come from south of that area.

Hard earned tax dollars at work.

Uh oh.... It's on the list of Structurally Deficient Bridges as kept by Washington State. I think their DOT might be the ones to look at on this one. Deficient normally would suggest 'in desperate need of attention' to my thinking?

Washington State List of Deficient Bridges

This would be one of those oops moments, and then some.... Wow. It's really past time to skip new tanks and insure we have safe bridges, IMO. It's not as sexy as a new weapons system....but it's far more important.
