I see your point, boncho, but I believe that the Russians, being in a position of influence, are at least looking for a negotiated end to the conflict. The Iranians...Well, who knows...

I wasn't taking sides, East / West on this, I just think there should be no military support of any kind, or intervention, other than humanitarian support for both sides.

Well, 2 things.

1) The BRIC is united, whether they show it or not.
2) The BRIC wins, the US loses.

Wait, I'll add another one in:

3) The Cold War never ended.

Quite simple. It's a proxy war, if Russia, Iran both pulled out, and US and their pick of the litter allies for the week left town... Well heck, there'd be no conflict. It's a proxy war. Never was about Syria. No one cared when Father Syria was alive and life was really crap...

This pales into insignificance when compared to what the Mexicans are doing to people in order to satisfy America's coc aine addiction!

Boy, the media's gonna have a hard time spinning this to make Assad look bad. These are the guys the UK and US (along with other western hemisphere countries) want to arm. So are we allowed to called them 'terrorists' now?

Everyone is suprised about this? The world has been in perpetual war for at least 100 years. Even when you take the major wars like WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam et al, there have always been civil wars going on in some 3rd world country. And the majority of the time, at least one of the superpowers has been involved, if not directly, then by arming at least one of the sides involved.

So why all the shock and outrage, considering this kind of # has been going on for so long???? Oh, thats right, because it is so much easier to find out about it these days courtesy of the Internet, and 24 hour news channels.........

This is nothing short of Satanic.

You know the western armies are controlled by dark forces.

I see this behaviour as perfectly normal.

Exporting democracy around the world, BRAVO!

And yet the US And UK government fund these very same rebels, tell us they are Al-CIAda but still use them to fight a proxy war in a foreign country?

Just what is wrong here?

I had made this post recently on another thread:

from what I have read there are different forms of cannibalism the majority of which are ritualistic, followed by military men extreme hatred and disdain for their opponents like what happened at the siege of Ma'rra
www.abovetopsecret.com...

I'll place bet that the meat wasn't Halal but most definitely Haram..

The civility of war is a concept that is only shared by those in power. War, by nature, is a brutal act which should be averted at all costs in a civil society. But once that aversion fails...

Kalimah, Kalimah...

Sardonic (and probably insensitive) Indiana Jones reference aside, this is very telling. I wondered what they were alluding to on NPR yesterday. I figured it had to be bad, but they just kept mentioning this Abu Sakkar guy, but not what he did...can see why it would make people uncomfortable.

[Devil's Advocate] This is the same mentality many pré-farming societies have had, for some reason, that eating parts of your enemy (or even your own dead) imbued you with their spirit. On a molecular level, it is oddly a reasonable conclusion - you are what you eat, as they say. However, as a society, we feel we have moved beyond these superstitious and base, animal-like behaviors. But have we? Is killing and eating a heart of a human enemy, unleashing chemical weapons, bombing infrastructure, rape, torture, mutilation...is any of this really in separate categories, or is it all representative of an underlying sad truth about society?[/Devil's Advocate]

There is no doubt that this is seriously screwed up and a clear sign that the situation in Syria is quickly going the way of Liberia. It seems every time the US gov gets involved in a situation in which the people only desire to work out their own problems without having outside forces involved, it turns ugly real quick.

Syria was able to full off a socialist revolution and it has been a thorn in the side of American ever since. Iraq also pulled off a socialist revolution. Iraq`s mistake was failing to develop brotherhood with it`s middle east neighbors. Syria was smart enough to develop that much needed brotherhood with it`s middle east neighbors. It does not surprise me that they now have a man killing someone and then eating the person`s heart. There are serious CIA influences going on in Syria. The CIA breeds this kind of behavior. Before this would never happen in Syria. It only started after America took an active interest in the country.
