My other special delivery :D

This is my first ever Mothers Day present courtesy of my awesome fiancee.

A 21.5 inch iMac!!!

He said he wanted to avoid the inevitable meltdown if my laptop were to die and I didn't have a back up computer. lol I won't lie he is correct. I would probably go through internet withdraw if I didn't have access to a computer. I don't have cable, I don't play video games but I LOVE to read and the internet is like a vast library to me so I require constant access. When I was a kid I lived in the library. I checked out as many books as they would let me! I have a 15in Macbook Pro as well, it works fine but he wanted to make sure I had something more reliable and bigger storage wise. I mean this desktop has a 1 terabyte hard drive on it. I've only used 30GB's on my laptop lol I will never use 1tb lol but it's nice to know i have that much space!

We had discussed in the past about getting a desk top or something else in addition to my laptop. He tried to talk me into a PC which he should know would never happen. I had to remind him who he is with! I don't dislike PC's they just aren't for me.

It came nicely packaged I might add. Apple sure knows how to package a product. I was so worried it would get damaged since I've had many damaged packages delivered from UPS. I was happy it was in one piece and there were no holes in the box lol. I waited patiently all day for the UPS man! I knew it was coming so I didn't go anywhere!


Not a bad first time Mothers Day gift. My fiancee really is a sweetheart. He takes such good care of me and not just because he buys me things, he is really sweet and works hard for our family. I am very happy and lucky to have him in my life and soon we will have our little man joining us!! He will be a great dad for sure!

I know he reads ATS so if you are reading this honey I love you and thank you for all that you do!

Yea he also got my laptop for me. I was using a PC laptop and he would laugh at my meltdowns. Oh that Acer caused me to freak out so many times. It was always crashing so he got me a Mac so I wouldn't have meltdowns. lol I haven't had one since.. haha.

No special plans. He won't be home til the end of the month. It will just be me I might go to my moms if she is feeling better.

I am so making stuffed mushrooms when he is home though! I will have to give him your recipe since he is doing the cooking when he gets home. I am going to relax and wait for the big arrival!

Haha. I am one of those Apple fans.

He tried unsuccessfully to get me to consider this one Asus desktop but he knew that would not work. It was nice but it was also a PC lol I am an Apple girl 100% It's my preference. IF I were a gamer then I'd probably need a PC but for what I do Apple is perfect! It is also the only OS I've ever really used. I had a PC yrs ago for school and it drove me to insanity lol. He has an Asus laptop, it's a nice computer but it's soooo big. I call it a mantop lol it's a beast but he plays online games and such so he needs something like that.

Ach that was a really super first mammy's day present, mother's day in Ulster was months ago so happy mammy's day to you all over the water

I like PC because I'm a gamer and are swapping parts all the time when they burn out.

Still that looks like a nice machine though.

very nice....I've been hinting to my wife that I want to upgrade my computer....I'm afraid I'm going to get a ladder that I probably need more to paint the gutters and some trim around the house...I would much rather a new pc...enjoy it....

Very nice machine you have there. Never buy acer. Just don't.

I have a variety of machines, Mac being the least used, but considering it's a G4 and still works like a charm, that speaks volumes for MAC.

I can't justify buying apple products anymore because of their disdain for their users, but for someone who isn't playing games, you really can't go wrong with a MAC.

You've got a keeper from the sounds of it
