The two earlist songs I remember from childhood are "Catch a falling star", which is fairly classic, and also this one;
"Sugar in the morning, sugar in the evening, sugar at suppertime;
Be my little sugar, and love me all the time".
They don't write them like that any more.
PS
"Catch a falling star, and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away;
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, keep it for a rainy day.
For love might come and tap you on the shoulder,
Some starless night-
And should
you want
to turn around and hold her
Then
you've got
A pocket-full of starlight..", then repeat, I think.
