Would like your opinion on this ad that is causing a stir as being racist:

yanked ad

Pepsi has stopped this ad from showing.
Im just wondering, while they were coming up with the idea and filming it, didn't anybody
raise any red flags prior to releasing it to the public?

What actually is the message of this ad anyway?
Blacks and goats beat up on poor blonde white women?
How is this commercial remotely related to a soft drink?

To call it racist must mean there is a purposeful agenda behind it.
Which, at this moment, there is no proof of.

First time ever seeing this. My view is just because there are black guys in the line up don't make it racist. I guess it's just the world we live in today. Probably the same lame reason my kids cannot sing bah bah black sheep in their schools anymore

Hahaha lmao,

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew it was going to be one of Tyler the Creator's "Goat named Felicia" skits.

He is hilarious, IMO. :-P

I can see why it would be labelled as racist it’s a bunch of black dudes in a criminal line up with a goat and then a room full of white cops talking to the white victim.

If its the goat that "did it", then we specifically know the "blacks" are innocent.
But of course thats racist.
Everything is racist.

first off, it was incredibly lame.. wth passes as humour in some places?? but... shrug

and yeah, those dudes in the line-up were characatures of black crims as said before, and ze pigs were all good white folk.

intentionally racist? quite possibly not, but very telling of the attitudes and miserable unawareness of those who made it...

some peeps would be offended.

and others would no doubt tell them to stop being silly, some of those saying that no doubt complain that they are always subjct to reverse racism and such crap.

maybe if people didnt try so hard at making funny stuff and failing miserably then we could all just forget about it and drink something worthwhile instead.

...meh

I don't know about racism, but these commercials are terrible. Yes, we live in the century that has the worst and dumbest ads to sell to the gullible. But it wasn't that good.

Sorry, I don't see it. It was obviously meant to be over the top and overt in it's implications. It wasn't like they were trying to make a statement about young black men.
There is enough prejudice and discrimination without a commercial trying to promote it, as this one wasn't.
Sgt. Cursed.

Yeah, the goat was random and pointless. I guess if it sells it sells. If it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell. Marketing at its finest.

I'm normaly one of the first to say something like "lighten up" or "you're to thin skinned",but I find this extremely offensive. I can't believe whoever at Pepsi who first saw this didn't immediately fire the person who made it, and destroy the video.

It's NOT racist because there are already 5 black guys involved in the making of this ad, so it's too late to bring out the race card.
Which means any potential racial overtones would have surfaced by now.

The only racism I see seems to be coming from the people that think these 5 blacks are not smart enough to think for themselves.

I don't see it as racist.
When a victim describes their attacker, they don't bring in a bunch of white guys if she says it was a black guy.
However, I don't get how someone confuses a black person and a goat.
I just don't get it.
I wouldn't call it racist.
But I would call it unfunny.

Agree, totally unfunny.
If people are offended just don't buy the product.
Simple solution.
