Just heard that she passed away today, aged 53.

She was one of Australia's rock goddesses singing for The Divinyls...

She will be sadly missed.

Yeah, saw this earlier. I wasn't even really aware how ill she was.

Multiple sclerosis and breast cancer, double mastectomy.. sad.

far out, trying to find that pic of her in hospital where she looked absolutely radiant, and all I get are stupid bomber pics.. google is useless.

RIP Chrissy.

Very sad news, still remember buying Monkey grip on cassette after hearing Boys in town on the radio, probably on
3XY in Melbourne.
My two favourite bands in the 80's were the Divinyls and the Angels, now Chrissie's gone and Doc Neesons in a bad way makes me very sad.
She was the penultimate rock chick, she could sing but could truly perform. I saw the Divinyls many times and they were brilliant live, a very sad day indeed.

ABC2 put a special episode of spicks and specks on tonight to honour her.

Heard the news on the wireless earlier, I have neighbours who've seen the Devinyls live, and have been told of her antics on stage.

I was a bit too young when the band were at their best, but I still appreciate the music and loved her husky voice.

Damn I missed it.

I too was too young when they were in their prime but have been a fan for as long as I can remember...

... and have been told of her antics on stage.
This is video is a fine example of her unique delivery.
Around the 1:40 mark the transformation begins, and don't miss the lipstick starting around 4:55

"Life can be lonely,
life can be very sad.
Life can be something that
you wish you never had.
Open the door Wally, open the door."

Oh, I was so sorry to hear that! She was just too young. She was very much a woman in her videos. I was in my early twenties when this song came out. Her best song is now an earwig for me and I celebrate it.
