hi - this is a " how to " , how to start a deisil engine vehicle when :
you have no hill / gradient to roll it down
you have no man power to push it
you have no animals / other vehicles to tow it
the " technique " does have caveats -
this technique will start any vehicle that has electrical power and funcialal electroics - BUT has a defective starter motor or damaged flywheel ring
gear
otherwise , this technique requires that all alectronic fuel control / engine management systems etc are functional or can be bypassed
this technique requires that any " engine pre heat " system is either functional or is ` replicated ` by heating the air entering the intake manifold
that said - here is the method :
jack up one drive wheel
attach a rope to the jacked up drive wheel
with the engine " primed " to start - the gear box in 1st , and the clutch drepressed :
spin the drive wheel as fast as possible
engage the clutch
at this point the engine should start
depress clutch - engage netral , apply brake
remove the jack , remove rope
the vehicle is now running - and can be driven - do not stall it
here is a vid , demonstrating this principal

SOL auto-trans need the pump working to build up preasure so the clutch packs will apply and transfer power, only way to work pump is having engine
running.some older cars (1963 and older) did have a rear mounted pump back in the tail shaft housing and could be push started,. most of thoses cars
are scraped or collector items or in cuba !!! so no if its a auto trans no luck, you will need a good car batt.
Are you thinking about cars without differential or rope spooling up? I would be curious to know, learned here about this trick, makes sense, but then
you come and spoil it .
Edit: Ok, finally watched the video . I would use a longer rope and wind it around the tire so that I have the rope free after some turns but you
need a longer rope
