Tremors jolt Pakistan, India, Middle East

April 16, 2013 - Updated 1551 PKT

KARACHI: Severe earthquake jolted parts of the country including Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, Abbottabad, Islamabad, Lahore Tuesday, Geo News reported.

Tremors were felt across Pakistan, India, Dubai, Sharjah Ajman and other areas. The Met Office told that the intensity stood at 8.0 while the origin was Pakistan-Iran border area.

No loss of life has been reported in any part of Pakistan.

US Geological Survey (UGSS) said the tremor hit at 10:44 GMT at a depth of 15.2 km. The epicenter was in southeast Iran.

It was located 201 km (125 miles) southeast of the Iranian city of Zahedan and 250 km northwest of Turbat in Pakistan.

People also evacuated shaking buildings in Qatar and Dubai, residents said.

Sorry I could not find any other threads on the matter .... IS it normal for an Earthquake to effect across 1000nds of miles ...felt form as far as Soudi Arabia to New Delhi ??

Massive Earthquake hits Iran,Pakistan,India and its tremors are felt over till Saudi Arabia and no one wants to give their views ? not to mention 100s feared dead

Misplaced priorities ......

Wow a 7.8, Isn't this the largest earthquake in awhile? I really hope the best for the people in the affected areas.
Things can settle down at any time now. Thanks for the heads up.
