Then, when the Fed’s fire hoses started spraying an elephant soup of liquidity injections in every direction and its balance sheet grew by $1.3 trillion in just thirteen weeks compared to $850 billion during its first ninety-four years, I became convinced that the Fed was flying by the seat of its pants, making it up as it went along. It was evident that its aim was to stop the hissy fit on Wall Street and that the threat of a Great Depression 2.0 was just a cover story for a panicked spree of money printing that exceeded any other episode in recorded human history.

They think that government is there to take care of them.
Meanwhile, politicians are incredibly corrupt, dishonest, wasteful and hate their constituents.
Forget about the fact that people are poorer, freedoms are fewer and things are getting worse not in spite of but because of government.

There is something to the opinion that many want to have cradle to the grave care...so they can live as they choose, do what they want...not have to worry about the work a day world like the majority of us...
I can see where there'd be a certain attraction to something like that... After all, many of us miss being children, and not have any real responsibilities. Many that want this cradle to the grave are children, regardless of age...and need a mommy. I see 'em all the time at work, living off the largess of the state...little realizing, or caring, that this gravytrain is in trouble. A rude wake up is in the books for many people in the not so distant future.
I loved my parents, still do in fact; but I grew up. My life is my responsibility, no one else's. That attitude, which is shared by most people, scares those in power, or a great many of them anyway... Because we're dependent upon no one but ourselves. We have no hooks in us, or a bare minimum of them.
I have no credit cards. I have a car loan that'll be paid off by the end of summer. ...amazing how much less stressful my life has become as I've removed some of those hooks...
Some want the nanny state. Most of us don't. We make our own way, which is as it should be.
