I posted a couple of days ago I think, asking you to raise a glass and celebrate a life well lived
For those that did both online and hopefully in private my heartfelt thanks.
I got back from my friends wake this morning, what can I say ? I'm emotionally exhausted. Friends, true friends I haven't seen for in some cases 23
years celebrated with my friends family. We cried, yeah some big tough old school bikers, some that are now successful business men, some that need a
break in life, one or two that still haven't grown up *blushes*.
We laughed so hard I still hurt.
Then a very dear friend in a drunken state stood up (If you can call it standing) and pronounced that a promise was made 20 odd years ago around a
fire between two brothers. He bet me me that I had forgotten that and raised a glass in celebration of life, before he could finish I had my phone out
and that thread up.
The room went quiet as the phone was passed/dropped/picked up/spilled drink over etc.
After all the curious had seen the thread they all raised a glass
The toast was this as far as I remember
To a life well lived
To friends eternal
At that point we would usually drink
My some what the worse for wear friend stopped the toast and added (he is usually an emotional ice block)
To friends we trust and have never met.
To all those that raised a glass at ATS we salute you. A long and happy life to you all, may you all know the true meaning of friendship. Friends
eternal
Cheers ATS and thank you
Respect from the boys and girls of my past, present, and no doubt, future.
