Now that you have perused that here is a snippet from an interesting article on an other UFO website,.

“NASA scientists and engineers participating in exploration of Mars and Moon reported results of their discoveries at a briefing at the Washington national press club on March 21, 1996. It was announced for the first time that man-caused structures and objects had been discovered on the Moon.” The scientists spoke rather cautiously and evasively about the functioning objects, with the exception of UFO. They always mentioned the man-caused objects as possible, and pointed out the information was still under study, and official results would be published later.

It was mentioned at the briefing as well that the Soviet Union used to own some photo materials proving presence of reasonable activity on the Moon. And although it wasn't identified what kind of reasonable activity it was, thousands of photo-and video materials photographed from the Apollos and the Clementine space station demonstrated many parts on the lunar surface where the activity and its traces were perfectly evident. The video films and photos made by U.S. astronauts during the Apollo program were demonstrated at the briefing. And people were extremely surprised why the materials hadn't been presented to the public earlier. And NASA specialists answered: “It was difficult to forecast the reaction of people to the information that some creatures had been or still were on the Moon. Besides, there were some other reasons to it, which were beyond NASA.”

This is not anything from myself but though in all likely hood this has already been posted somewere on ATS but I thought at I am new to the site so will many other's be and we come here looking for stuff like this to work our thought's and inspire debate or controversy so it is all yours as I have nothing further to add.

I just had a check into what the event was at the press club at that time and found it was this ..

As it stand's though I can't help but like Hoagland but even if I take him with a pinch of salt I truly believe there are ruin's though I have yet to see the unarguable smoking gun my gut instinct tell's me that we are the descendant's of the survivors of something very bad that happened a long time ago and that we or rather what we were was far more advanced, now who is there is an open question but I suggest that they may be a none terrestrial branch of the same original race,.

Gortex, you do realize that the fuzzy crescent above the moon's limb on your video has been indisputable explained normally, years and years ago, right? Do you need some catch-up?

I posted the video as it shows the images from the Hoagland conference mentioned in the OP not because I believe the contents .

I can understand why governments would not want to deal with disclosure to the public that there was and may still be an off world presence operating in our solar system. I mean you only need to look at the economic messes our so called leaders have been managing, to know that extraterrestrial disclosure is way beyond their capability; to deal with or manage its disemination to the Public.

When did Pravda go from an ironically-named state propaganda outlet to a respected news source?

No Hoagland is just working on material from curiosity and suggesting that small stone's are martian nike's for baby's, seriousely.

The problem being if there is something there and they are constrained by there publisher to produce a book in set time then the likely hood of more and more erratic interpretation become's inevitable at least he has not found some platinum disc's in a cave some were (Von Daniken - he pulled an otherwise respectable field that the like of Maurice chatalain were writing real book's about into disrepute and did a favour for anyone wishing to use it as dis information),.

I'm not following you. How is Maurice Chatelain 'respectable' -- what credentials and professional track record does he bring to the table?

I'm not following you. How is Maurice Chatelain 'respectable' -- what credentials and professional track record does he bring to the table?

He's either a former NASA Chief of Communications or a low-level engineer working for a NASA subcontractor, depending upon who you ask. I suspect some resume padding for his target audience.
