I haven't seen a coronal hole this large before.

Also, south magnetic lines of force are now reaching the northern hemisphere.

Start from the south magnetic pole and trace them north.

About a third of them make a short hop up to a coronal hole.

About a third of them go half way to the center of the sun.

The remaining lines jump all the way to the northern hemisphere.

Alright, I have no idea what that means but that's a cool picture. I will have a theory after I do some research. Thank you for giving me something to research OP

Don't know what the implications for planet Earth are. Can one assume that the massive coronal hole could be another alien wormhole or portal opening up?

Ah yes, interesting news. S&F

We are still going through a major quake watch from the last coronal hole and planetary line up. This one's big, I love that something that looks so beautiful can be so damaging to us a the same time. I wonder how it will effect us this time.

Not sure what I'm supposed to see. I agree it's a cool pic, are you referring to the bright light on the left side?

Sorry I'm so ignorant.

My guess, no.

It's just a very large coronal hole. According to Spaceweather.com, it takes a few days for

coronal hole emissions to reach Earth.

if you want to know what it means go check out www.youtube.com...

its from Suspiciousobservers aka 2m news guy on youtube

and pls ...its absurd to think they are portals ....theres nothing of the sort in excistence, theres hundreds of these things yearly and nothing has come thru them, we have constant surveilance on the sun (soho-stereo)

It looks like a black hole on the sun. See upperleft side of our sun.

It's just another coronal hole. Spaceweather talks about them on their webpage everyday.

Thanx!

I see it on the second image. Hmmmm....cool. Not much we can do about it so enjoy the show.

Maybe that's the reason for all the cold weather we're having. It was snowing again today, and the current temperature is -1 C.

Earth has an (explainable) habit of killing these .. don't worry.

the earth kills sunspots, this is a coronal hole, its influence is going to affect us, if the magnetics on the surface of the sun isnt covering it

That coronal hole is quite small. Clearly you haven't been watching the sun very long if this is the biggest you've seen...

Anyway, solar winds from it are expected to reach us April 6-7.

Yes, i read that at Spaceweather.com also.

Coronal hole solar winds take a few days to reach Earth.

It looks like this April 2, 2013 photo of our sun reveals that the magnetic fields are in flux.

The coronal hole is above the current North/South field.

There are also other coronal holes below the field. - Double Hit - coming our way.

Also, isn't odd there is 1 magnetic line jumping into the North Magnetic Pole and

1 magnetic line jumping into the South Magnetic Pole?

No huge epiphany here however, I look at these images (updated one below with link to story) and I cant help but be reminded of:
