Would be possible to live a "modern" life without money?

Woudl it possible to have an entire modern city surviving and competing with other big cities without using any form of money?

Everything was paid using goods, land, property, services etc...

Would it possible?

The initial problem would be interacting with the rest of the world who only sells using money.

not only is it possible, but it would be preferred by this individual.

think about what money is .....
it's the "middle man" of EVERY DEAL BROKERED .....

kind of like drug dealers never letting you meet the source ..... always a middle man

It would be very convenient for the governments, they could just take whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. I think it needs to stay a little harder for them to get.

A land without money would erupt into chaos IMO

define "chaos"

as in fractal mathematics and algorithms
as in the modern abstractions / dada-ism of the art world
as in a super nova explosion
as in the modern orchestra movements of the '70s e.g. Zappa or Sun- Ra
as in the constant and consistent misuse of language both in definition and context e.g Apocalypse means "the lifting of a veil during times of extreme deceit and distrust" ..... usually confused, misapplied, defined as a cataclysm or catastrophe
