Scottish Cardinal Facing Sex Charges Eligible To Vote For Pope

Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Britain's most senior Catholic clergyman, should be allowed to decide for himself whether to take part in next week's Vatican conclave to select the next Pope after allegations he made "inappropriate advances" to other priests, according to the former Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor. Three priests and one former priest in Scotland have reported Cardinal O'Brien to the Vatican over the claims, which stretch back 30 years.

Yet another Priest get's accused of sexual abuse! Not just any priest but a cardinal, and he get's to vote on the next Pope!!! For anyone that that never believed before that the Vatican and it's Priest's are nothing more than a gang of Satanic Pedophiles, think again.

It is possible that these accusations, which have been made in the last couple of days yet date back decades, are in response to the Cardinal supporting priests marrying.

Think you should change the title of this thread as he is not "facing sex charges", no charges have been filed.
It is "alleged"that he made "inappropriate advances,,,,,,"

There is a difference between a charge and an allegation.

p.s. I am not defending him in any way but I feel it is important to note the distinction as this looks like a ver nicely timed smear campaign.

I would never defend a sex offender but you can't just call someone sex beast when you don't really know the facts... Rthe poster above comments are completely valid.. Innocent until proven guilty.. This is only a smear campaign...

I have to agree that jumping to a conclusion is not a great idea,
however having said that its also kinda their own fault that even
an allegation is taken very seriously, the reason being is they
are very very well known to hide and protect those amongst them
who choose to do those things, it makes it impossible to not
at the very least consider that the case can be similar.

What would definitely scream conspiracy would be if the church
throws him to the authorities, that would be complete change of
stance for them and i would have to question whether or not
they did do it because of the marrying thing, that entire issue has
been a hotbed for the catholic religion for a long long time, at
one point in time it was allowed, then later it became banned
again.

The problem with all these guys is they think that morality is
whatever they say it is, they do claim to be gods voice on earth
after all, the irony behind the whole mess is the idea of morality
they have is so very flawed...... there again religious morality
tends to be subjective as to what god you worship so its really
not a surprise that most religions fail to teach real morality,
you know, where you do whats right even if a deity tells you not
to......
