Actually there is some evidence of this happening. The question is how credible is the evidence. It seems that most has come from NK citizens who have escaped to the South, and may very well be trumping up the stories. After reading a few articles that I found on Google that came from at least somewhat credible sources it seems that there may have been about 3 people executed for this in the last 10 or so years.

Seems like a lot of maybes, mights, and could haves but no solid proof at all, although I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is true in a country where famine is so wide spread.

If you care to look through the thread you would see that a few links have been posted. If those aren't enough for you then I would suggest a little homework.

The problem with all of the sources though is that they pretty much all come from the same point of origin which is a SK think tank. I am sure one of their main goals is to think of ways to paint NK in the worst possible light. (not that they need to be trumping up things to accomplish that)

I do believe that in the 90's the reports were probably more accurate as they went through a time of famine that saw over 2 million die, and so I think it is very possible that some were probably eating the dead. As sick as it sounds people will and have stooped to that level when starving. I don't see any evidence though that this is a continuous behavior or as wide spread as some would like us all to believe.

China offered the North Rice and Instant Noodle Soup and the North Korean Leadership refused this offer and it countered with....We will take the Rice only if you also send CONCRETE!

This is all over the News and is so widely reported as well as known about as I myself have had people bring up this subject out of the blue in general conversation...that for you to say or think this issue does not exist is laughable.

Now that, you will have to show proof of. If you are going to claim that NK is reporting it itself then you will need to provide links. I have read through several on the subject and nowhere that I have found has the NK leadership said any such thing.

ALL of the reports are coming from the same NK defectors reports to a SK think tank and a supposed law enforcement report that seems to be so confidential that no one can see it. That is a LONG way from proof. In fact a U.S. lead team that investigated the issue came back with nothing about cannibalism only that there are some pretty bad food shortages in certain regions.

Edit to Add: This is NOT all over the news unless you consider tabloid website like the Telegraph and Daily News to be credible news sources

China has done little as North Korea's main supporter to supply Food Aid and one has to ponder if China has had enough of the North's behavior and desires the North's leadership to fall.

China food productions systems are stretched to the maximum, they can barely meet the demand of feeding their own population. Why do you think China is desparate to stop population growth. Cant feed the population is catalyst for civil war.

North Korea is a big Gulag and terrible things will happen there until the walls of the Gulag are dismantled. The Norths leader ship has failed ages ago thats why the country is Gulag.

I am having a problem getting the link from the Chinese News Service that reports about how North Korea was confronted by China after North Korea refused Chinese Food Aid as it countered for some food and asked for Concrete.

During this discussion between the two countries...China angrily accused the North of placing China in a position of refusing starving people who were resorting to cannibalism Food Aid because of the North Korea demand for Concrete which would be used for Military purposes.

North Korea admitted it had a Limited Problem with Cannibalism and stated such issues were more prevelent in 2012. China responded in stating that Chinese Specialists in North Korea that were there for helping the North with puplic work projects and helping to solve the North's energy issues...had seen and reported to Chinese officials the witnessing of DEATH SQUADS that North Korea has across their country shooting all suspected Cannibals.

I will find this shortly.

The report from the Blaze is just a rehash of the other ones that are yet unsubstantiated. The one from ips is from '98 and I already spoke about the cases from that era. There were most likely some cases of people eating the dead then as they were going through a famine that killed over 2 million. and the one from the telegraph is well... from the telegraph, come on, what's next a link to a weekly world news story?

The point is there are no reports that this is happening now outside of rumors and the reports of people fleeing the place and they would say anything to not be sent back. There is not one substantiated case of this happening. Only rumors. Could it be true, well yes it could be but your claims that anything has been verified is way off base.

These reports are from some fairly reliable sources and there are hundreds.

It is logical to believe a report from someone working in North Korea as an aid worker or helping them with a works project or from some International Group than to believe what the North Korean Leadership has said.

For you to say...well the Leaders of a country that has terrible starvation and does not allow freedoms of any kind as well as being a Closed Society....are much more reliable than these other reports...is laughable.

You haven't provided even one reliable source that has substantiated any of those claims. You have listed tabloids as your evidence. The few that are not tabloids who are reporting on it are reporting it as "rumors" and "alleged reports" When something is alleged, or rumored it is by definition unsubstantiated.

And where did I say that the NK was reliable? I'll wait.... that's what I thought, I never said that. YOU said:

I merely pointed out that there is no report, no website, not anything that says they have reported it.

So it is your opinion that these people wouldn't overstate things to make sure they are not sent back? That is just plain ignorant. Anyone living a life in NK would most certainly say whatever was necessary to stay out of that place.

As far as reports from people working as aid workers inside the country the only tidbit I see is from the NKRAF and they did not report seeing any of this going on. Their report is quoting a few refugee statements after interviewing over 200.

Here is a quote from one of the telegraph articles that you might find enlightening. I am sure you read it, it just doesn't suit your argument so you left it out.

Well I commend you on giving us something other than tabloids. Notice how both articles are reporting "rumors" and "fears" not substantiated claims....

After seeing reports of aid workers, and others who have looked into it I believe that if it is in fact happening it is a few isolated events. Not the widespread problem that some of these articles, and you are claiming it is.

NK is a horrible place run by horrible people, and there is so much there that needs attention. If people latch onto theses supermarket tabloid articles it just draws attention away from the real problems. I think it also may cause some less informed individuals to draw the conclusion that "if they are making this up, maybe they are making up other stuff I read about NK"

Places like Iran and North Korea, who have been subjected to sanctions and their nations being surrounded by the Military of the US Empire.

I agree that the U.S. definitely needs to pull out of many places that it is now occupying. Pulling out of the area of NK though is not one of them. If we pulled our assets from that region SK would see at very least missiles raining down if not nukes.

A corrupt government lead by a family of dictatorial narcissists with no regard for any law, even moral law, and no comprehension of civility, or ethics is why the people of NK are in the position that they are in. It is a terrible place, lead by terrible oppressive people.

I know that facts don't matter to those who hate on America about every little thing. In your mind we Americans will be at fault for every evil on the planet, every terrorist attack in because of something we did, every starving person on the planet is that way because of some action of the United States of America.
